Are you ladies scare sometimes of wearing your E-ring especially if you are taking public transportation or if you work in a not so good area? Like me for example I work at a school in Jamaica and I am sometimes scare so I usually turn the ring around so the diamond is not visible I also do this when I am on the train or places i don't feel too comfortable in. I am just so scared that I am carrying a piece of jewelry that is probably the most expensive thing I have. I am not really a fan of jewelry so having this beautiful ring around scares me sometimes. What are your opinions ladies???

Re: just wondering....
i agree with you. i worked with a girl last year that refused to wear her engagement ring to work with the fear that someone would steal it (we worked at a school in the south bronx)

when I am driving home from work in the a bad area at night I make sure my hand is down so that no one can see my ring through the window.

My friend actually just told me about that story. She works with the woman! So scary.

Re: just wondering....
when we've gone past someone who was iffy or through an iffy place I do flip my ring inside my hand just because I feel a little untrusting of people. At work it's not practical for me to wear my ring as much as I'd love to since I'm putting on & taking off latex gloves all day long while caring for patients.

Re: just wondering....
I think about that when I walk from my car to my school building. The neighborhood isn't that great and theft is big in this part of Brooklyn. I usually turn it around or try to hide my hands cuz some weirdo is always trying to talk to me or whatever girl passes by.

Re: just wondering....
I dont really use public transporation. The only places I'm worried about losing my ering are the shower and the gym (its a little loose so I'm afraid it will slip off)...so those two times I take it off.

Re: just wondering....
i think over time the paranoia will wear off!! if you think about it, probably every third woman is wearing an expensive ring, or pendant, or purse that costs more than my car!!!! chance are...you'll be fine, unless of course you're all alone in a secluded area.
