Would you be mad if your FMIL folded your laundry? Including your underwear!!??
apparently i am living the life of debra in everyone loves raymond.... the kicker is FMIL didn't do this on her own..she was over visiting and FH asked her to fold all the laundry in the dryer so he didn't have to..because he want to do more laundry ***??? I was so mad yesterday when I came home from work and saw my perfectly folded underwear on the couch. (FH folds like a person with no thumbs) so i knew it wasn't him

well he asked her to do it so cant really be mad at her, not like she did it on her own then that would be different.

Oh ok....I guess I would be mad that he asked his mom to fold my laundry... he should not have asked his mom to do it....I am sure she has done enough laundry in her lifetime!

I would be upset w/ FH if he asked his mother to fold our laundry. Our laundry is our responsibility.

oh ok i thought you were upset with her, sorry I misunderstood. Yeah I am the same way, I get mad if somebody does those type of things for me too. My mom used to have a habit of wanting to organize my room or even if she used to want to clean it, it drove me nuts and i used to always tell her to leave it alone and I think by now i know how to do it lol.
But maybe if he needed help with something and his mother was home and he was busy doing other things, which sounds like he was bc you said he wanted to put more laundry in, so seems like he just asked for help to get everything done. So its not that bad I guess

this happened to a friend of mine. she is living with her MIL and she went into their room and changed their sheets AND folded the laundry. but she did that because she is used to doing for the girls husband. i think there are boundaries and FH is the one who let his mom cross it. i would just tell FH that it isn't appropriate for him to ask her to do that.

I would totally be mad at FH! It may be unreasonable, but I don't understand why a grown man would have his mother fold his laundry!

i would be. im a bit OCD i hate when FH does it but i would be mad at him too if he had his mom do it.
but i will say id be happy she was at our house since she lives 10min away and she has been here once in the 3 years we have lived together she makes me so mad.

Was FH doing other things and asked for help or was he just being lazy. I mean my FH works 84 hrs and i work 50 and go to school so when things get hectic instead of us going to the laundry mat my mom tells us to just drop it off to her. She says my school work is more important and she does nothing all day. I mean it happens like maybe around midterms and finals thats about it. I know it sounds bad im 25 but when I study i have to memorize everything i have like anxiety and ocd around test time lol... and poor FH only sleeps 4 hrs a day so i cant ask him to do laundry

I probably wouldn't be mad at her. Maybe alittle embarrased because I feel funny about people touching my underwear. Just tell your FH how you feel. Maybe he just needed alittle help

lmao i am sure that fmil will be folding mine in the future. She already fixes my bra while their on...we just have that kind of relationship

I think since he asked her to do it while he was switching it over, it's harmless. He should have done it himself, but maybe she was like oh do you need help with anything or something like that. At least you didn't have to come home & do it I hate folding laundry !!

oh god, i was in the same boat as you...fh would make his mom do his laundry and my underwear would be in the basket and she would do it and fold it too! talk about embarrassing, i totally get what you mean and you're definitely NOT alone in this

My mom has done fh's because our washer/dryer isn't hooked up yet, so he's been bringing it over, and if I am writing papers and leave it in the wash, she takes it out.

I would be mad!!! Those are your personals! See I live with my FMIL, we all have our own level of the house but, we all have to share the laundry machine! We all have set days that we do our laundry. My day is Monday's. However, I told her yesterday that I had a lot of laundry this week to do! So I figured it wouldn't be a big deal if I put in a load today! well!, I went to put it in, and FMIL was annoyed B/C I got to the machine first!, she made a comment like' Let me Know When Your done' later after the cycle was finished , she made it a point to get to the machine first- so she could do all the transferring - disregarding that not everything of mine gets put in the dryer- and I watched her put her hands all over my underwear! Talk about uncomfortable!
