Just wondering

Just wondering

Does the wedding party normally get mailed invites? I was recently in a wedding and we did not get invites. I didn't think any way of it because we were not guest we were participants. However my co-worker made it seem to me that the wedding party should get invitations.

hmm...I never thought of that before! The 2 weddings I was in I got invites and I did send out invites for my wedding party.... i think its nice for them to get to see what your invite looks like...

Re: Just wondering

I am thinking I could just show it to them if they want to see it. I don't know what I will do about this. Like I said I never received one as a wedding party member but it seems most people have received or sent/sending one to their wedding party. I was orignally sending my 'will you be my bridesmaid' cards with the Save the Dates and just have them tell me if they were bringing someone or not since I see or speak to all of them pretty often. But maybe now I will send them invites. However part of me feels that is a waste of paper, as I am sending one invite per household for ones with 'adult children' (meaning my 18 year old cousins). I will see what FH thinks. Thanks for the input.

i would def send it to them! i think its only cuteous, and they may want to keep it (depending on how sentimental they are, i know one of my bm's wants to like frame it lololll), but at least for their dates who arent in the wedding party they should have the info for the day of

Re: Just wondering

Good point about the dates but we are always frequently with them as well. They'll already know everything...lol. I feel being in the wedding getting gifts for being in the wedding sharing all of the planning and prep moments with me are sentimental enough. I amd still just not seeing the importance of sending them the invite other than to show if off and waste paper. Do they even have to RSVP???? they are in it. I know they will be there...lol. I know I am dificult to convince. Maybe because its never been done for me and I didn't think twice about it. I saw them when she ordered them and when she received them befor she sent them out. I didn't expect her to waste a stamp on me when we were together all the time.

Then play it by ear....usually invitations only come in increments of 25 so if you have any left over why not send it to them instead of having a bunch of extra at your home but if you don't have extra then don't! (and if you want to save postage give it to them in person!)
