how far in advanced do you send your invites? what is the rsvp date usually like?

I'm the studious bride and every book I've read so far says to mail 6-8 weeks before the wedding and the Rsvp date to be 2-3 weeks before the wedding to allow for a final head count to the caterer.

my wedding is gonna be in sept. 16th so I'm sending invites the week after july 4th and rsvp in the middle of august, so guests will have a month to respond

My RSVP is 7/15 and I'm mailing the invites the first week of june.

You do not want to only leave yourself 2-3 weeks to follow up on stragglers who forgot to RSVP and make table assignments!
Your RSVP should be at least a month before the wedding, then you can send the invites out 4 weeks before that

I'm sending mine first week of July most likely, and the RSVP date will be exactly one month before my wedding

My wedding is 9/10 and my RSVP date will be July 25th. We are planning on sending them out in June. We both want to know far in advance who is coming and how much $$$ we will owe. I know there is a certain etiquette about when you should send invites but I think it is up to you and what works best!

I have to provide my final head count to the Rh two weeks before the wedding, so my RSVP date is 4 weeks before the wedding, and I am mailing them 8 weeks before the wedding.
