Justifying $$$ for Invitations

Justifying $$$ for Invitations

I'm having a hard time justifying spending alot on invitations . I feel like it's alot of money for people to just spend a second looking at it and saying 'these are nice' and then just eventually throw it away. I found a ton I like, but of course they are expensive.

Can anyone give me some good reasons on spending $$ on pretty invitations??

i had the same struggle you do, but i feel like invitations really do set the tone for an event

i'm in the same boat as you...
it does give your guests the feel for the wedding...but at the same time will our guests throw them out right away or keep them?

and then what about our single guy guests? or guests that dont come?

grr wish i could help

Sorry I can't help you... I struggled with this A LOT! I ended up choosing to DIY so that I could have everything I wanted but at a fraction of the cost.

i agree... i cant justify it... which is the reason i added the RH info to the actual invite so i could save money... 175 invites and 175 response cards - $294

I'm in the same boat darling, but I recently used an invitation someone gave me over the summer as something to lean on when I needed to write on a piece of paper. I know, terrible! My mom used an invite as a dustpan. These things really make me want to keep my $$$ in my pocket!

i only kept 1 wedding invitation and thats because it was DIY... otherwise, after the wedding it was taken off the fridge and thrown out...

This is a hard decision. At first I wanted the least expensive invites I could find but I didn't see any that had that special something. I decided to take a chance and get a custom mock up done and fell in love!! I reasoned it by paying the deposit and my mom offered to pay the balance. Set a budget and know that there are many vendors out there who will work with it. I'm working with Marry Me Designs and my invites are decently priced.

Well how many people are you inviting? The more invitations you need, the greater the cost obviously. There are nice invitations out there without spending an arm and a leg. Mine are going to run $4 per invite and I'm getting them from a seller on Etsy.

i am very strange & i have kept every wedding invitation that i have ever received. i like to keep them. my friends/family put a lot of work, time & money into them & i think its nice to keep them. of course when we move i may not have room to store all of the stupid things i keep.

i am no help because i feel that the invitation really sets the tone of the wedding. i am not sure where you are looking but i feel that i go a great deal using 'The Invite Lady.'

feel free to FM me if you have any questions.

knowing what i know now about the cost of invitations, i probably would have kept at least some of them!

Try one and see. Micheal's have nice ones for reasonable prices. Its a kit with everything you need.

Also, Staples has a pack of 100 for like 35-40 bucks. I would have them printed at Kinkos for cheap but its really not as hard as you think to print them on your own

I can't understand why people spend loads of money on their invites either but...to each their own. Just because it isn't my style, doesn't mean that its ridiculous for some people to do it. I, on the other hand, have never wanted to spend buckets of money on the invites so I am semi doing it myself. I designed it and I am giving my very very very rough draft design haha to an artist friend of mine and she will actually make it pretty and print them out for me. Total cost is aprox. $180
