k ladies so i listened and most of you said that thomas paul would be a good next to second since duet was booked and were meeting with him on Thursday. He sounded really nice and went over everything with me and then he was asking about the video....he was honest and said we do have a good videographer but he's like its not the top of the line video..i like that he was honest and not gonan make up this whole thing... i see that some people do use a diff vendor for video and photo... he was sayng there video is around 1,500. is there video companies that are really good around that price or should i just book for both?

I would look at Couped Up. If you book before April 1, the 'recession special' prices are great and he really has a great eye.
We decided not to go with our photog's video person, and we didn't want to spend money, and Rob seemed to fill those qualifications.
We're also going to look at Fade to Black

Re: k now confused on the video
our video was 1795 and we picked the top package
i think its better to stick w/ one company...at least the video and photographer know eachother and have worked w/ eachother b4

When you go to see him he will show you examples of his video. It's really not bad at all! Chapters and menus...etc. I'd take a look at his whole package first!

I would look at his DVD's and see what you think. I can't really say much because we didn't look at anyone else after TP. we booked on the spot. I have also seen some of his work. my friend used him for both photo and video. I thought he did a great job on the video. I have seen other companies that I thought were ehh...
thats a total personal reference though. Ask him for sample videos and see what you think. Good luck!

I booked separately and I couldn't be happier.
I'm going with 'top of the line' for both.
I also think (IMO) that if you contract a company that does ONLY video, the quality is better than going with a photography and video company. I'm basing that on the experiences I personally had when I was booking. It may not always be true, but that's what I noticed.

I agree. That way you're getting people who specialize in that certain field. We booked OrangeFilms (LOVE ) and will be looking at separate photographers in the coming weeks. It costs more to do them separately but I think it's worth it...photo and video are the things that you'll still have at your 25th anniversary!
