I'm getting married July 6!! I know there are others on our weekend, too... I can't believe it's actually less than a year away now!

Hey, you forgot about me! I can't believe it either. I was at a wedding in Corning, NY when it was officially a year away. It was so fun! Everyone kept reminding me that a year from the 5th, we would all be at my wedding!

So, how is the planning? Did you chose a photographer yet?

Our planning is just starting.... Looking all over Jersey for halls this weekend, and hope to book one by the end of next week. Also searching for a non-kosher rabbi, b/c we're getting married on shabbas. Settled on the band (pricey, 5.5K, but few choices were available for russian bands
), but haven't yet booked it, b/c no reception hall.
Plan to look at dresses sometime soon, know what kind I want (think combination of strapless plus illusion neckline, with lace), most likely will get something from davids bridal.

that's all.
BTW, my FI just now estimated the low and end costs for the first time (somewhere b/w 25k and 40K). We'll try our best to stick to the 25K mark. My FI is really scared, and yes, we're paying for it ourselves.... Yuck

Of course, Becky!! How could I forget my local buddy?! You still in Baltimore?? How's the new job?

Planning is going ok. We FINALLY decided to use Imagine for photography. They are so expensive but, we feel, worth it.

The latest debacle, though, is the limos. Check out my other post below...I have no idea what to do!!

Does July 4th 2004 count???!!!
I'm a little nervous about the 4th falling on a Sunday in 2004. I've read some prior posts about salons,nail, etc being closed due to the holiday. You girls come across any concerns??

I am so excited. I just booked my makeup artist this week (Jacqueline Nicole) and I will book the videographer this week (Wild Rose).

Next on the task list is florists.

Most salons will be closed on the 4th. I will have a hair and makup person come to my house to do me, my mom and my girls.

I will have my nails done the day before (Thursday) and possibly a spa treatment sometime that week.

If you have a good hairstylist that works in a salon, see if that person is willing to open the shop for you for that day.

I'm getting married July 6 of next year and my mom is already looking into salons that are open on Sunday and finding quite a few (I live out of town, so I take her word for it! ). I don't know, however, whether they'd be open on the July 4 holiday, regardless of what day it falls upon. I like Karen's idea of trying to get someone to come to your house.

I booked Body Rock for July 4th too!

So far I have booked:
Hall - Woodbury Country Club
Photographer - Glenmar Studio
DJ - Body Rock
Makeup - Jaqueline Nicole
Gown - Princess Bridals (Paloma Blaca)

I am booking the videographer (Wild Rose) this week and then I'm going to look into florists, limos and BM dresses. Invitations and favors and programs will be the last few things. I hope to have everything booked by January.

We still have pleanty of time.

Thanks so much! Being that it's July 4th 2004 (2 years out) I hope my hairstylist stays at the same salon for two years!! I definitely will ask them to stay open...everyone (including me!) is coming from out of town and my LI salon is right down the road from the hotel. I will be really convenient, and maybe I'll ask them next time I fly down to LI for my haircut. (Can you believe I'm still flying down to LI for my haircut? That's how much I love the girl that cuts my hair!! )

Your getting married exactly two years from when my FI and I met (read my profile, I know it's goofy, but it tells the story!) AND the wedding we went to was at the WOODBURY COUNTRY CLUB on JULY 4th 2001!!! The day and the place were AMAZING!! Best wishes....
