FYI for those of you who are not aware but KAY ANN BRIDAL IN FRANKLIN SQUARE FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY, CHAPTER 7. I was able to pick up my dress today but my girls dresses are still at the manufacturer (bill levkoff). the bridal shop never paid them therefore they cant release the dresses yet.
JUST WANTED TO LET YOU GUYS NOW. MY WEDDING IS JULY 30.

Didnt see your post before I posted. My FSIL was one of the brides too. She was able to reach the lawyer for the bridal shop and they happened to have her dress at there offices. I feel horrible for you girls. She also paid for the dress in full before they would even order it and they also charged her for her alterations up front including the bustle.

I am a victim too! I picked up my girls' dresses today but my dress was ordered- thank god! Lillette's in Baldwin is handling it for me. But we lost our deposit- 840 bucks!
My dad says that when someone files bankruptcy, you can't collect any money they owe. I don't know if I dispute the charge to my credit card (ordered back in August) because they usually refund you and then go chase for you. In this case if my dad is right, even Amex won't be able to collect from them due to the bankruptcy claim.
I'm happy I'll get my dress but pissed that its going to cost 800 dollars over the price due to these issues.

No, your deposit it protected. Expecially if it was AMEX. Call them, I'm almost positive that your Dad will be reimbursed.
Our deposit was put on a check and is therefore unrecoverable. CALL AMEX!

Somsone I know picke du[ her gown at the alwter, and they weren't allowed to look at the gown..turned out it was a size 42!

I was going to go to Lilletes too but they cost way too much. i highly recommend BRIDAL CENTER IN COMMACK. for a $170 dress, i am now getting it for $115. their prices are much cheaper and a lot of kay ann girls are going there. ask for Bob, he is the owner.

also, anyone dealing with ALFRED ANGELO...call them directly 800-528-3589. i spoke with Nancy. They deal with the public directly. so if your dress was ordered or even if it's night you get it at wholesale. my JBM's dress was $170 and I am paying $73+$8 shipping. BILL LEVKOFF WILL NOT DEAL WITH THE PUBLIC DIRECTLY, UNFORTUNATLY IT HAS TO GO THROUGH A BRIDAL STORE. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT KAY ANN HAD NEVER PLACED AN ORDER WITH FOREVER YOURS IN 5 YEARS. THEREFORE, THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND NEVER ORDERED MY FG DRESS. BUT FOREVER YOURS IS LOCATED IN HAPPAUGE.
