Keep it in perspective

Keep it in perspective

Just a reminder to all of us brides out there (me included) that our weddings are just one party for a few hours. So the next time we're freaking out about picking out invitations or that our future MIL wants to invite the mailman to the wedding, let us all remember that we are SO lucky to have these sorts of problems and not real problems like where our next meal is coming from. Because there are people (including children) out there who are hungry or are in pain or don't have a place to live.

I've been stressing out over centerpieces (had a real bridezilla moment, my first), invitations and the guest list myself and then I read CNN and then feel like the silliest person in the world for worrying about something so trivial. I'm working on ways to find time to help those people with real problems and hopefully I'll be successful.

Happy wedding planning.

Thank you for posting this. I think about that all the time. Its easy to lose perspective when we obsessed with our weddings Then I feel so sily for getting upset over FMIL or my parents lack of interest or help with my wedding.
There are so many people suffering a lot more than I.

And I will keep applauding to bump this so every bride is reminded, and to remind myself. I know FH is sick of reminding me...

You are so right! Sometimes this whole shebang seems frivolous.
I originally wanted to have a destination wedding in New Orleans....I thought my money would do more to help people there.
then I realized no one would come;(
