I am on my way back from a weekend trip with FHs family. Of course they were asking questions and wanted to know our plans. I have a hard time saying wayyy too much. And I want something's to be a surprise but I can't help talking about it. Like now everyone knows we r riding in a trolley. And everyone, including FH, knows the style of dress I want. (which is starting to get to me bc I wanted it to be a surprise especially for him). Is anyone else in his dilemma? I need to put myself on lock down.

Re: Keeping plans a surprise?
I have the worst time keeping secrets/surprises. I don't think it's a big deal that they know about the trolley and what not. I've also shown FH the dresses that I like. It doesn't matter bc he's still not going to see me in it until that day (and knowing him he will completely forget what it looked like anyway lol).

I agree with this. I have been showing my FH dresses I like just to get an opinion but who knows what I will actually end up with. I'm sure he already forgot what they looked like too lol

Oh yes! And FH really doesn't want to see my dress. I only showed my BMs my dress but I really don't want to show anyone else!

I am the same way!!! But I have to say (because I'm totally proud of this).... My fiance' has NO idea what kind of dress I bought. He knew I wanted Tea length, but he doesn't know if I go that or not haha. I know my Mother would kill me if I leaked even the smallest detail to him... and he wants it to be a surprise as well. So so far, I've been good!!
Regarding tell other people stuff, I'm having a hard time. I've already showed a couple of friends (and random people) my centerpieces. What I SHOULD do is delete the pictures on my phone because then I wouldn't have any thing to show anyway
It's so hard when you're excited about something though!

I am exactly the same, especially with the FH...its hard he knows what kind of dress i want to. we talk to eachother about everything so its not easy to not tell him what i look at and stuff

Re: Keeping plans a surprise?
I know exactly how you feel! I was at a family bbq this past weekend and I ended up showing pictures of my dress to a few of my cousins. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but I was so mad at myself, lol. Why couldn't I just keep it to myself?
People ask so many questions and I decided from now on I will just say, 'It's a surprise!' and they will just have to deal. Of course, it's so hard to not tell anybody, so maybe pick one of your best friends or your MOH and tell her everything :)

Re: Keeping plans a surprise?
I used to be like that, but I learned my lesson very quickly. I would tell FH's family something, and pretty soon, all of their friends would know!! Now, I am very choosy with what I share with them. They even ask about my dress in front of him! I usually make a joke and tell them it's lime green with feathers or something.

I'm so bad at this. I tell people everything. Though, since being on LI weddings, I'm a little less compulsive because I can share all my wedding stuff on the boards!

Re: Keeping plans a surprise?
FH knows the dress style bc everyone asks me what it looks like in front of him. I was actually showing pics on my laptop to others to his family while he was closing his eyes!
I am terrible at keeping surprises too so I don't think I am even going to be trying!

Re: Keeping plans a surprise?
I am pretty bad bout this, but luckily there are like 3-4 of us at work who are getting married, and I am the last one of the group. So we can share with eachother. its nice cause we aren't judging, just sharing what we are doing differently.
And of course I share with all of you!

Re: Keeping plans a surprise?
I want to tell people too but I have kept it pretty hush. My FH only knows that my dress is ivory because I didnt want his tux shirt to be white. Im sure he thinks its going to be puffy because that is my taste. We are getting a photobooth so I really dont want anyone to know about that and our guestbook is actually being made by my photographer from our engagement pictures. The colors of our wedding is a secret even to me since I have no clue lol
