i get the reason why salons won't let people take pictures or know the name of the designer, but it's making it really difficult to remember which ones i liked or what i've tried on.
is everyone else sneaking pics on the sly or finding places that allow it? how are you keeping track of what you like?

Re: keeping track of dresses
I found my dress pretty quickly at the first salon I went to -- but they still wouldn't let me take a photo until I actually purchased the dress and I knew my family would want to see it first. So they told me the designer and style number so I could go to the designer's website and look it up myself and email my family the picture.

I also found that to be a problem. My mom took a lot of quick pics (and got yelled at a lot!). Also, the place I wound up buying my dress allowed me to take photos. In fact, the owner's daughter took them for me so I could email them to my mom that night.

The salon should be keeping track of the dresses you like (they did this for me at Bridal Reflections-they put it on my info card). But I also wrote it down for myself. At another location where the tags weren't in the dresses I snuck a pic when in the dressing room and when the lady left the room. But I knew the designer (I had specifically gone to see this dress) and wound up ordering it anyway.

I don't understand why and no one has given me a great reason....its not like they're making the gowns in house and you're going to steal the design.
It makes it very hard w/o photos and i ended scheduling so many appts to see the same gown...once i found my dress i felt relieved.
it was fun at first after many many and many appts....it was a bit of a drag.

It's really a turn off when the store reacts the way they do. I won't do business with a store who will not tell me who the designer is.

I must say I went to Kleinfelds and they tell you the designer while your trying the dress on and they dont really care if you take pics or not. I dont get why other salons would...

i think i'm going to buy the actual dress through a store that's up front with me. fantasia was great about it, but they had limited selection. i'm going to make my way to kleinfeld's soon.

Re: keeping track of dresses
Bridal Reflections let me take pics when I was just trying them on. But they all told me who the dress was by and they kept a list on me.
