Your going to buy 10-20 vases or more depending on the number of tables which is going to cost you a lot of $$ because someone may break 1 or walk out with it? JMO that's a total waste of $$ I have been to A LOT of weddings over the last 2 years and I have never once seen anyone knock it over. Its too big and heavy. I also have NEVER seen anyone leave with it either. And GOD FORBID something happened to a vase isn't it cheaper to pay for 1 than all?

All the weddings i been too everyone takes the centerpieces, i would rather just buy cheap vases then the thought of people taking them home and having to pay for them, which will prob be an arm and leg from a florist

Re: Keeping Vases on High Centerpieces????
we had tall and short centerpieces and had a game during the reception and whoever won at each table got to take it home - to our surprise not so many people took them - prolly coz they're big! so I wouldn't worry too much abt people taking vases - they probably won't - we assigned one of the GMs to collect them at the end of the night and bring them to the bridal suite and it worked out great - we didn't have to pay any extra for breakage or missing vases
goodluck!

Re: Keeping Vases on High Centerpieces????
Yeah mine were rented too and yeah some ppl tried to leave with them but they were told they couldn't. We had two guys from the florist come towards end of the night to wrap the cp's for our guests and give it to them as they were leaving. When somebody tried to take the whole cp with the vase, the guys from the florist said that they couldnt take it and they take it back. Not one vase broke and although ppl tried to take them, nobody left with it.
I wouldnt have bought them bc what are you going to do with all those vases after. I had 22 tables so there was no way, plus they were so tall and not like i would use them for regular flowers in the house. For my e-party i bought vases and had to give most away bc i wasnt going to take them all home. I kept 2 but thats about it.

I purchased my vases, only because it allowed me to have high CP's for a bargain basement price.
I bought 32' vases from CB2 for $6 (on sale from $35) I loved the design, unless you can find them that cheap, it isn't worth the expense.

yeah .. that was an issue I was having .. then we decided to go with ice sculptures on each table ... if they really want to take the ice home ... they can have it! LMAO!

I'm definitely not buying the vases. What would I do with 20 huge vases after the wedding?
Your RH will make sure people do not walk out with the vases. They are used to keeping that in check. In fact, mine is breaking down the centerpieces and giving small bo-ks to every guest on their way out - kind of like their favor.

I never knew you had the choice of renting or buying vases either. My FH's mom is always taking home centerpieces from people's weddings, she's a fiend for centerpieces at weddings. I think it is a waste of money to buy the vases, what are you going to do with all those tall vases afterwards. But if you can afford to buy them, go for it.

my mother is too! She suggested we earmark who from each table will get to take the centerpiece home at our wedding-- i told her she was insane!
