KELLYBEAN - turtle related...

as some of you prob know i had found a Russian tortoise just over a week ago. We were debating on being able to keep him or not and Kelly was really nice to offer to give him a home, but after talking it out with my dad and sister, we decided we would just keep him. My dad went out bought something to keep him in, food etc..

we even named him Boris - he is Russian hehe

well went to the local food store yesterday with FH and saw that someone posted a messing sign with a picture of him. I was debating whether or not to give him back - i was PO that they had actaully took paint and painted his shell (though this really doesnt hurt the turtle - its just not right) BUT FH made me feel bad that it might be some kids turtle and that they must LOVE him since they did have pictures of him. Anyway - he was returned yesterday, he only lived about 3 blocks away.

And we found out his real name was Rocky - ironic because my sister kept accidentally calling him that (since its our rabbit's name) I still think Boris was more fitting of a name for him!



i think the dogs might miss him hehe

Aww you definetely did a good thing!!!!

That's sooo funny about the dog. I had a turtle growing up and as soon as we got a dog it died....we thought the puppy might have given her -George- a heartache (I won't. get into how we found out it was a girl turtle).

oh gesssshhhh i can imagine it must be quite funny!!!

its funny - my dogs get along with all animals in my house - in fact they absolutely LOVE my rabbi - the 2 dogs and the rabbit lay together - so wierd!

Aww I miss having a dog in the house. Our apt complex doesn't allow.....I'd love to see that. Must be cute.

I can't wait for FH to come home tomorrow (he went away with FFIL) its tooo quiet here.

awwwww....sounds like the story ended well...the paint won't hurt them......if they didn't love the turtle, they would have never posted signs up....you did the right thing

Sounds like fun to me....if FH weren't coming back, i'd jump at the chance to visit the zoo.

you know ... i have a couple of tortoises if you want ... (they are a bit smaller than boris)

and no paint on them

Thats nice of you! Did you say anything about the paint. Was it a kids turtle?

Well when i called, the peoples whose turtle it was, were on vacation, an older man was watching their cat at their house while they were away, so i wasnt able to say anything about the paint, he didnt seem to know much. He said they have a son.
