Re: Kenneth Pool dresses....

I don't know if the particular dress you love would be any less, but I bought my Kenneth Pool dress at Saks in Manhattan - if you open up a Saks charge, they give you 10% off. Also, it's Kenneth Pool for Amsale, so you could try going to Amsale in Manhattan. You could try netbride, too.

You could try Kleinfelds. I actually called them with the exact dress I was looking for, and the price ranged it over the phone. Its worth a call.

THANKS! Do you think it would be less in Manhattan?

Any salon in Manhasset is going to be expensive. -Most designers have salons in the city - Try to go online and see if they have a Manhattan location, if it is the main salon, the gown may be much less there !
Good luck !!

Kenneth Poole used to design for Vera Wang, then Reem Acra and now he designs under his own name for Amsale. His line is very new so finding any of his stuff on any of the discount websites will be almost impossible. Try negotiating with salons that carry his line, you might be able to get the price down to a little under 5K. The Wedding Salon really worked with me on the price of my Reem Acra. Are there any KP trunk shows coming up? It seems easier to negotiate a larger discount during a trunk show.
Good luck! His gowns are so beautiful!!

Definitely look into trunk shows. I met him during a trunk show at Kleinfeld a few months ago.
His gowns are amazing!

Re: Kenneth Pool dresses....

I would definitely check out Saks in Manhattan - If I hadn't fallen in love with a Priscilla of Boston dress I would have gone to saks - they had 3 dresses I loved - and the more dresses they brought out the more I fell in love with - their service was amazing!

I found that their prices were MUCH better that Kleinfields ($300-1k CHEAPER at saks) and the same with BR and wedding salon.

You can open a Saks card and they give you 10% - YOU CAN SHIP your dress to NJ store and pay no sales tax - (at least that is what they told me)

Also watch for sales - saks often does gift cards where for every $300 you spend you get a 50$ (I think it was that much) gift card - so you could use that for your veil or something else you might need.

I bought my Kenneth Pool at the Wedding Salon of Manhasset. They were great and really worked with me on the price. I bought the matching veil as well. My dress is on the web site, but I am not sure how to post it. Hope this helps!

Re: Kenneth Pool dresses....

The Wedding Salon wasnt willing to negotiate with me unless i bought the dress on the spot...and since that was my first time ever trying on dresses, i didnt feel comfortable buying my dress so impulsively....
