Anyone ever do this? My BM has recommended I do it a week or two before the wedding to ensure I have no frizzies on the day of...I probably will, just looking for some first hand experiences TIA!

Re: Keratin Hair Treatment
My Hairdresser is trying to get me to do the same thing, but I had the japanese for so long and HATED my hair and missed my curls I don't know how I feel about doing all that again. (I know it's not the same and not permanent, but it's such a long annoying process and your hair is still really flat the first week or 2).

Re: Keratin Hair Treatment
I do it once every few months and LOVE it. I, too, hate Japanese straightening because it takes away the curls. Keratin does not. It just takes away the frizz.
I do not suggest doing it the week before the wedding. It really (for me at least) flattens your hair for the first week or two. It comes back to life by 3 weeks (still straight, just move volume). I got mine done on Memorial Day weekend for a 6/13 wedding.

I'm actually going to be doing this but after wedding--hairdresser recommended not touching my hair until after then.

Me too. My hairdresser said its perfect for my hair, since I have really thick hair.

I just started to get this done and I love it! I used to get the Japanese treatment until the girl fried my hair!! The keratin doesn't damage your hair, it actually appears healthier, and it gradually regains the curl. HTH

After its done is your hair totally straight or can you still wash it and leave it and have it curly?

Mine is straight =) I can curl it with a curling iron though and the curl stays.

Yeah I let it grow out. The last time I got it done was December of 2007 and the cut off the last of it in April of this year. UGH!

How curly was your hair before? Mine is very curly, so would it just be wavy??
Thank you so much for all your answers, they are really helping!

I got mine done a week ago and just wore it curly yesterday. And I'm not super curly to begin with - mostly just frizzy.

My hair was super curly but since I've been doing it for years..its gotten straighter after a bunch of times. I'm sure the first time u'll have some body, possibly some waves. =0) Check out my profile pics..some r curly, some straight.

Re: Keratin Hair Treatment
my sister has hair like a petunia. or a grizzly bear. or a ... i don't know. her hair is out of control. and she gets it done and LOVES it - like absolutely is in love. Her hair is super coily curly and very frizzy. it's nice and smooth with the keratin. she can still wear it curly, it's just not as tight of a curl, and it's not frizzy. it's also MUCH easier for her to straighten. It wears off after awhile. she keeps getting it done bc she LOVES it. DID I MENTION SHE LOVES IT?

Re: Keratin Hair Treatment
I just had the treatment done on Saturday for the 5th time and I plan on getting it done once again in September before my wedding.
My hair is super curly...like thousands of ringlets and I have been relaxing my hair since I was 13, but now I only do the keratin treatment. The treatment doesn't last that long only 3-4 months and less if you wash it a lot, but it washes out over time which means you don't have to wait for it to grow out.
It's not a straigtener so you will still have to blow-dry your hair, but it makes your hair super healthy and shiny and makes blow-drying much easier, i.e. I blew out my hair yesterday and it took 15 minutes instead of the 60 it was taking me before.
I would suggest doing it 1month before your wedding not a week or two, as other people said for the first few weeks your hair is pretty straight and may not hold much of a curl. I go to a great place in Roslyn, if you want info feel free to FM me, but I would absolutely recommend it
