The Chicago groupon of the day is a Keratin Treatment for $175 (originally 350). Does that sound like a good deal? Have any of you girls had a Keratin treament?

Sounds like a GREAT deal. My salon charges $500 which is fukcing ridiculous. I heard great things about it though and I heard the rate should be ~$300

If you have curly/hard to manage to hair you need to get this! I just got it done last week and I LOVE it. It is the best thing ever. It usually takes me over an hour to straighten my hair in this heat. In about 1 hour, it's poofy. Well, after the Keratin, it took me 20 minutes to dry and I didn't even need to use the flat iron. It stayed straight and silky through all of this heat and humidity. $175 sounds like a great price!

That's an awesome price...for the treatment, the shampoo, the serum and a haircut I paid about twice that.

That is a good price but make sure there are no 'hair volume' stipulation. I paid about $200 for the treatment plus $44 for shampoo and conditioner.
I tried it in Dec. as a hair option for the wedding. I did not like it but I know a lot of people who reallllly love it. So I think that as long as it is not too near your wedding you should try it.

and to answer Stardutchess questions its different than Japanese straighter. The Japanese one changes your hair structure whereas the Keratin is more like a coating. The length of time it last depends on how often you wash it because even with the saltless shampoo the coating does wash out. It also depends on the natural chemistry of your hair.
On me it lasted about 2 months but I do wet my hair a lot and the water in my house is very hard. On my friend , lives int he city, it lasts 4-6 months depending on the time of year.

crashing I had it done about 3 weeks ago and it's the most amazing thing! I love it!!! I can't believe I can keep my hair straight when I usually have no choice but to curl it from June-Sept. This lady is from my boss' salon and will come to you or you can go to her for $150 FM if anyone wants her info

it is really flat the first few days but as you wash it the body comes back
