Re: KerriJohnS!!
You are welcome! Before you start stamping the card box up though... you should do some test runs to figure out how to work the stamp. Too much pressure you get a blob.. too little and the figure looks crappy. And different papers react differently. So play first. Also, did you get the embossing powders with glitter in them? There's a color called snoflake.. it's like a silver color with glitter.. it's soo nice. I'm assuming you got the heat tool bc you need that... you will see it change... so look for that.. it takes a few seconds. I can't wait to hear about how it turns out.. and pics! I want to see pics! You're going to be an embossing freak! What kind of stamps did you get? Rubber or the clear ones? And what kind of embossing stamp did you get? I know the ones I have are good brands.. and if you need me to I can check the names of them for you. I so excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: KerriJohnS!!
Awww..your too sweet. Well, I didn't get the embosing heat thingy b/c they are sold out...so I'll see if they have it anywhere else. But, I did get all the accesories... I got the glitter ones..I loove glitter...I have it all in my car so I don't know what names they are lol. As for the stamps..I got these clear rubber stamps... It's full of all different butterflies. Sooo pretty. I think they will be perfect sized on the ailse runner... since I don't want them being large... LOL. Do you think I can swing using the acrylic paint for the stamps...or will that not work? I didn't like any of the colors or the ink pads there. I'll play around with it tonight. Or, and of corse I'm doing a test run first. I'm too scared unless I try it out a million times! LOL Thanks!!

Well you need the heating tool to heat and seal the powder. So without that the powder will just flake off. As far as the stamp part goes.. you shuold get a clear embossing ink pad.. then the color of the powder will the the color the stamp will be. i think embossing stamp pads are different.. they seem thicker and more like glue and most importantly they take a lil longer to dry... this way you can create your stamped image before pouring the powder on it. If you use a regular stamp pad or paint the image might dry before you are able to pour the powder over it. Does that make sense? I know you can paint the stamp with a brush and embossing stamp pad ink.. but I don't think acrylic on the stamp itself... unless I am misunderstanding you. Too bad you aren't closer to me.. I would totally show you how to do it... and then you wouldn't have to buy the heat tool bc u could just use mine. Then we can be embossing freaks together! Ha ha ha! basically you stamp the clear image (i sometims use a very slighly tinted one just so I can see where I stamped (if i am doing multiple stamps in one area) then pour the poweder over where you stamped and shake the paper so the loose powder comes off. Then you use the heat tool from the top or the bottom depending on how thick your paper is... and it heats and seals it and raises it.

Re: KerriJohnS!!
Ok...this all sounds easy enough. I just need to get my hands on the heat tool. I will play around with the inks and paints I have at home and see if any of them work on the stamp. Otherwise I just quickly rinse it off and wati...haha. I want to first use the reg stamp on the aisle runner... and then for everything else I will use for the invtiation peronalization, and for the card box...or whatever else I can find as well. LOL. I can't wait to get home and start playing...and if I can find this heat tool then I'll be on cloud nine! HAHAHAHA Yeah, that would be awesome if we were closer toghter... our FHs would think we were total nuts! HAHAHAHA It's alll good. HAHAHA If I end up doing anything worthy of posting I will take pics and send them up on the boards.
Hey...do you know where I can get plain wrapping paper...blue and purple, and some pink? I looked everywhere and can't find it anywhere! I want to use paper to decorate my card box!! LOL

Re: KerriJohnS!!
Try to get thick paper and maybe use the back side of it. I don't know too many that aren't white on the other side though. Um.. hmm that's a good question.. usually there are things all over wrapping paper.. but you can use any kind of paper as wrapping paper... try those huge rolls of paper from either a stationary supple store or paper store or craft store. Kinda like oaktag but on a roll.

Re: KerriJohnS!!
It's called Embossing.. you can use a stamp and embossing ink and embossing powder and a heating tool to make a raised.. well anything. Picture.., words, invitations, etc. You have have custom stamps made. there's many aisles in Michaels and ACMoore and well just about any craft store dedicated to embossing. Just make sure you get the heating tool! Poor Dani! You're gonna want that later when you start playing around! Oh I meant to ask you Dani.. what was included in the 'kit' you said you got?

Maybe LIW should sponsor a DIY day, for Brides to share and learn DIY Wedding ideas! Yes? Mary MOB
