Ketuba, how do you do it?

Ketuba, how do you do it?

We got a more fancy one since we are going to have this for the rest of our marriage and will probably have to display it.

Its rolled up now.

So do we frame it without the glass to sign in on the day of?

and then put the glass on after the signing?

I'm so confused. It was one of those things I didn't even think of and then one of my relatives was like 'omg you have to have a ketuba'

The rabbi wants to show it and read it during ceremony, but I'm just confused how do this cause its huge

like 32' x 24' big rolled up heavy cotton cardstock type thing.

we left it rolled up to sign it and we're goign to have it professionally framed after we get back from the honeymoon. I dont know anything about keeping it in the frame without the glass -sorry!

anyone open it up during the ceremony?

I just think it will be so big and bulky to open up

We didn't open it up... We got some pictures during the Ketubah signing and it will be displayed in our home..

The Rabbi usually reads from it during the ceremony. Maybe 2 of the groomsman can hold it open while he reads it?

you're probably cutting it close on time, but we got a special ketubah frame from mpartworks.com which is where we ordered our ketubah. they made it custom to fit the dimensions of our ketubah (which was a non-trad size) and has a special hidden hinge on the side, so the top flips open for the signing and then closes back up for display.

my mom was a little hesitant because she thought it would look cheap in person, but we were all happily surprised by how amazing the quality was and how convenient it was to use day-of. i think i have a few pictures.

mpartworks is pretty good about rush orders and if its something they have in stock you might be ok? they ship from the NY area and ours arrived next day.

i'll try to edit with some pix added

Hi I just looked in your pictures and I want to tell you what a wonderful job you did with everything. I was thinking about doing the gable boxes as well. Would you mind telling me how or who did your labels for everything(direction cards, labels for oot boxes, etc.) as well as where you got your boxes. Everything looked great.
Congratuations.

Our Rabbi is going to read from it during the ceremony. I love our Ketubah and want it shown. We are also inviting guests who arrive early to come see us sign it.

you can take your ketuba rolled up to a framer. They can then mount it on this huge white foam board thing that folds up. I'm sorry I don't know the correct terminology, but if you go to a reputable framer, they will know what to do and can do it the same day. Its not being framed or mounted, which are technical terms, but to me it looks like its mounted on the white foam thing. Thats what we did, it worked out just fine, except that it never made it out to the ceremony after all that work!!! After the signing ceremony, our dumbass maitre'd brought it to the bridal suite instead of the gazebo. The ceremony was still beautiful without it. Sorry this was so long, but just bring it to a framer and they should know what to do. Good luck!

i went to michaels and got a clear plastic box frame to keep it propped up during the ceremony and reception and so it would stay flat and clean.
during the ketubah signing, we took it out of the box frame.
my RH let us use an easel to prop it up during the ceremony and reception.
there are pics in my wedding review via the link in my profile

DH's cousin matted ours and mounted it on a piece of foam board. The rabbi had DH present it to me during the ceremony. We also displayed it on an easel at the reception so that our guests could see and read it. DH's cousin covered it with a layer of clear acetate film to protect it.
