Re: ketubah

I live in Merrick so I can go up to Yussel's and find out who their scribe is and I can go right over to Stu Art and get it mounted
Thanks so much for all the advice

The rabbi that is marrying us is my friend so I can ask her, but just curious what everyone else is doing!

Re: ketubah

1. We got our ketubah (custom work) from the amazing Stephanie Caplan at www.theketubah.com -- note she does also have some ready mades which are les expensive.
2. Bride and groom (in traditional Judaism) do NOT sign ketubah -- it is signed by two witnesses whose only requirements are that they be followers of the faith, male and of age (again, may be different in reform or interfaith.)

We are an interfaith couple and are getting a ketubah with interfaith text. One of my BM is an artist and she is making it for us!!

Re: ketubah

Our Rabbi (reform) told us that we'll need two witnesses to sign.

Requirements for Witnesses (according to my Rabbi):
Un-Related
Jewish Adult
Must know own Hebrew Name, even if they can't write it.
Can be male or female

This, Regi and other ladies, is another case of 'Put 3 Jews in a room, you'll get 4 opinions/interpretations.'

It depends on YOUR Rabbi.
