I found a ketubah I really like but the company said they only sell it as is with no personalization. Before I commit to ordering it (or committing myself) does anyone know where I can go to get it personalized? Can any calligrapher do it?

thats really weird that they won't add your names !!! i think we have to personalize it , with our names and our parents names ect.... have you tried Yussels in merrick? thats where I got mine and they have a huge selection.

Re: ketubah personalization question
ok here's a picture of it, I think what they mean is this is how it comes and we are in charge of getting it personalized elsewhere. Do you think I can just take it to a calligrapher?

Re: ketubah personalization question
unfortunately all i see is a red x, no pic . a calligrapher that can write hebrew ( if your text is all hebrew) might be tough, but if the text is in english then it should be ok to bring to someone....

Re: ketubah personalization question
Here is a website where you can convert the date.
I ordered my ketubah directly from the artist, and she did all of the calligraphy. I would think you'd be able to take it to any calligrapher and have them do it. Is the text of the ketubah in English? You might want to run it by your rabbi also.

thanks so much, that website will be helpful. Luckily it is in english. I'm going to call the girl who did the calligraphy for my envelopes

You should be fine. You might also want to check with your rabbi...a reform rabbi will be ok with the English text, but anything above that might have a issue with it.

Well we're having an interfaith ceremony so if the rabbi doesn't mind sharing the ceremony with a priest I don't think he'll mind the ketubah

We checked them out last week, they had really nice stuff but my mom is paying and she didn't want to spend that much. I'll see if they do calligraphy though, I'm sure they do.
