engagement party gift/slight rant

FH's best friend had an engagement party like that (in an actual place, DJ, etc). They wanted something small but were basically forced into it by his parents who were throwing it and said that if they were paying for it then they got to plan it the way they wanted to.

Anyhoo, they didn't expect any sort of gifts or monetary amount or anything off their registry and were just extremely happy with anything they got. I've also read that engagement parties aren't 'expected' gift scenarios. Either way, I think getting them whatever your comfortable with will be appreciated and you don't need to/aren't expected to get a wedding sized gift. If they invited you to their party, they probably are just looking forward to celebrating with you!!

engagement party gift/slight rant

I'd give around $50-$100 per couple which I don't consider the same as a wedding gift since weddings usually are a larger check since it's per plate. If they already have a registry you could definitely buy something from that instead. I invited everyone to my engagement party that I was inviting to the wedding but we did a bowling party. I didn't even think about gifts at all and I wasn't registered anywhere. Most couples gave about $100 or cute gifts (wedding item baskets, future Mrs. shirt, engagement ornament etc.).

engagement party gift/slight rant

I had my engagement party this past June on a boat with a dj (my moms idea) we did not go into it expecting gifts from anyone but were just really looking forward to celebrating with friends and fam since were having about a
2 year engagement. We did receive gifts from most people and we were very grateful Most people gave us between 50-100 with a couple gift cards and actual gifts. I've given the Lolita painted wine glasses before at e parties and they were always a hit.

Re: engagement party gift/slight rant

We give $100-$150 when we go to big e-parties, depending on our relationship with them and how fancy it is. Technically you'd figure you give less if the wedding is a year or within a year from their wedding. But in the past, we just gave our friends the amount we would have given them anyway for their wedding.

engagement party gift/slight rant

My MOH And both our parents threw us a surprise e party at a restaurant, more of like a dinner party, obviously we didn't expect gifts but we got about $50-$100 from each couple in gifts and or cards. I've been to big eparties and FH and I usually give about $75-$100 for both of us. I mean it's not a wedding. I would even get them a gift for their home instead, a photo album or a decorative piece. It's an engagement party, not a wedding reception, just my opinion.

engagement party gift/slight rant

We had an engagement party like this, and we were not expecting any gifts either. It was at Westbury manor on a Saturday night with a DJ and open bar. Lots of people have us cards and cash anyway, between $40-$100. Some people brought actual gifts, which was very fun. I think anything you give would be appreciated. I can only speak for myself though.

That is a great gift. I did not have an e-party but a few of my friends took me out for a celebratory dinner and drinks and one of my friends actually got me a wedding planner with a whole bunch of magaizines and notebooks and pens for when we actually started to plan.

engagement party gift/slight rant

My new favorite engagement gift is vintage forks that are engraved with 'I do' on one and 'me too' on the other, they also engrave the wedding date. They can be used to feed each other the cake. Etsy seller LittlePineJewelry. I have them and love them so much, I have purchased them for 2 friends too that love them

It's an engagement party, not the wedding, I think you are fine with a gift off of their registry.
