Kicking my sis out

Kicking my sis out

Ok So I'm now I'm finally engaged and we have decided to live in my FH house and sell mine. Problem is that now I feel like I'm kicking my sister out and abandoning her. My sis & I have shared the place for like 3 years now, when my parents moved to FL. She has known for a while that this day would come, but she is waiting to the last minute to make plans. We need to be out by 6/1 and she can't find anything...im stressing about it (like I need that, but I feel so bad), She tells me not to worry but I am, can't help it.
So I am going to ask that if anybody knows of an apt for rent (preferably in Nassau for like $600-$700 a month), please let me know.
Thanks

wow that is a tough situation. I know in long beach some people rent out their basement apartments for around 600-700 dollars. But nassau county is very expensive as i'm sure you know. I'm sure she will find something. Don't panic yet, unless it's May 30th and she still hasn't found something, lol.

It's going to be hard to find an apartment for that price. Does she have any friends that she can get an apartment with? Splitting the cost with someone may be the only way to pay that amount. Tell her to look into renting within someone's house. I'm assuming she's already looking in the newspaper but maybe check Craig's List (http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/). Good luck!

Yes, that price will be near impossible to find. We tried to find a 2BR in Nassau and the prices were 1800--2400...with no vacant apartments!

When I first bought my condo, I wanted extra help with the mortgage so I rented a room in my condo for 800 a month which included all utilities. I advertised on Craig's List and another teacher answered my ad. It was a great situation and she stayed almost a year until I got engaged. Tell your sister to look under Rooms for Rent.
