FSD is going to be 7 on December 4th. Honestly, the grass is always greener...its a big adjustment to all of a sudden live full time with a kid, esp when you are only 24 and thought you wouldn't have kids for at least another 3 years.

I have one daughter who's 12 years old and she's amazing!!! . Children change your life!!
She's playing a big part in our wedding. Matter of fact, her and her Godmother are my Maid of Honor (my daughter) and my Matron of Honor.
And no worries, it will be here before you know it and you'll be on the Lifamilies boards with one on the way!

Twin SDs aged 11 almost 12. I have known them since they turned 9.

IT IS an adjustment but I was ready for it (I am older). If you are younger it must be 100% harder...

The beginning can be challenging but it depends on the kid.

My girls are great and if I had children, I would want them to be just like them. So I get the kids without the stretchmarks and midnight feedings (but I get whinning lol).

FSD will be 15 in May. She lives in Florida with her mother, but we have her during christmas and the summer. It was a big adjustment at first, but gets easier. FH and I Have been trying to conceive for about a year and half now, so no kids of our own yet. But I know it will happen when the time is right!

I agree! It's a HUGE adjustment. FH has a son that will be 10 in Dec and a 6 yr old daughter. They came to live with us 4 years ago...I was 28...and my lif flipped upside down. I wouldnt change it now...but dont rush if you are young!! : )

FH is like having a son. jk. We are going to try right after we are married. Who knows how long it will take to conceive or if we can even conceive, but we aren't in a huge rush to have children. I want to enjoy married life for a while.

I have a 7 year old FSS. He's awesome. I agree it's tough coming into a ready made family, but it's so worth it. his mom isn't too involved, she just has him a 3 days a week after school, we have him weekends and a couple of weedays. It's been tough too since he's been diagnosed with ADHD, trying to find therapy and therapists that work. So sometimes I get angry that I'm not even his birth mother and I do more than she does. It is beyond me how a mother can be perfectly fine with another woman raising her child for her. But to each his own. I couldn't love him anymore if he was my own. We told him Daddy and I aren't just getting married, all three of us are getting married and becoming an 'official' family. We're going to do a three-way sand ceremony. I'm also looking for a peice of jewelry for each of us to symbolize becoming a family. Everytime someone asks us about the wedding when he's around he tells me to tell them about the sand. LOL
The other night we were laying in bed talking and he told me he was so happy we're getting married, and that I was going to be his step mom. So I asked him if he knew what a stepmom was, and he said 'it's another mommy, so now I'll have 2 mommies and what's better than that?' then he added 'you're already like a mom so you won't need to learn anything don't worry'.
