Kids at wedding

Kids at wedding

Ok, after giving FH's brothers & sisters the option of bringing kids or not, looks like they're bringing them. My question is can I put them at a little table behind their parents or do they have to be seated with their parents? The 3 year old I'll seat with his parents but the others are 6-14 so I was going to put them at a little table of their own.

Was thinking of putting little bags together for each of them with those Yes & No books, Mad Libs for the older ones, some of that Crayola stuff that only writes on the Crayola paper and maybe those big decorated cookies.

Thanks, ladies

That's what I'd do if we were having kids at the wedding. They don't want to listen to adults blabber all night, they have their own entirely different event going on at your wedding. No one else is at all aware of it.

i have to say---i honestly think kids (unless thay are about 13 or older) should always be seated with their parents. yes its true that kids don't want to hear adults jabber--but at the same time when you have kids on their own at a table, they can get wild.

i was next to a 'kid's table' at a wedding once, and i swear i hated every minute of it. the kids were loud, screaming, throwing food at each other, spilling drinks, etc. the kids ranged in age from about 4-10. they parents came over to them now and then, but overall the kids were very crazy and ill-behaved

The kids at my wedding ( about 10-15 ages 2-12 ) will be seated with their parents so their parents can help them out with dinner etc.

However, at past weddings most of the time the kids were boogying down on the dance floor so they will have time to get away from the parents!

ITA...that's what I'm doing. And even though goody bags are cute...they last a whole 30 min if you're lucky. Take it from a mom of a 4 year old. If their parents are smart they'll pack some toys for them. :)

I would have to agree with MJDOC. Kids should not be seated alone without being supervised by an adult. Kids can get wild. I'm having kids at my wedding and they are seating with their parents.
