Kids at wedding

i made individual bags for each of them (i had almost 20). i put in cards, stickers, gummy bears, magic tricks - stuff i could find at the dollar bin at Target or cheaper in bulk online. they were a big hit, kept the kids really occupied. i have some pics in my review. good luck!

we have about a dozen kids too, but their parents are too anal and (also pain in my anal right now)

but anyway, we can't do a kids table cause parents want to be near their kids. I am doing something like bags above. But seriously don't have time for that. I might just end up getting ready made favor kits from toys r us based on age.

We had 12 kids b/w the ages of 14 months and 9 y/o. We had goodie bags set out for them at their tables that were filled with activities:

An activity/coloring book (pirate themed, which went along with our nautical theme)
Sea life stencils
Sea life stampers
Sea life themed crayons and stickers
Glow necklaces (the kind you crack 'on')
and the kicker, Crab hats.






Both our kid guests, and some of the adult guests, had a good time with the loot.





The kids stayed at their tables with their parents, and often joined us on the dance floor. They were the hit of the party and we were so happy to have them with us.

omg love the crab hats! can you tell me where you found them??? we are probably going to have plenty of children at our wedding too... a lot of people traveling and we don't want to discourage them from coming because their children aren't invited! the more the merrier!

We got them from Sea Shell City. They were the BIGGEST hit! Crab hats

We got the rest of the stuff from Oriental Trading. We got a lot of bang for our buck through them.

I've been trying my hardest not have a 'kid wedding', but at the same time I don't wanna make things difficult for my OOT guests with children. So there will probably be a few of them. Maybe about 3-5 of them ranging between the ages of 2yrs and 9. there's not enough of them to have a kids table, plus they'll wanna be with their parents anyway, so I'm just having an extra kiddie menu for them. Stuff like Chicken Fingers and such instead of the fancy food the rest of us will be having. I like the idea of goodie bags for them though. I woulda LOVED that when I was little. I never got invited to weddings when I was a kid. haha. And I was always so mad at that, and now I'm doing the same thig. Oh well.

Really, having kids at the wedding is not a bad thing! most churches have crying rooms and parents are good enough to know to take them out if they fuss. And at the reception, they are going to be fixed on eating and if you give them things to do, those activities. There will be some that cut up a bit, but that makes for some awesome photos, and more importantly, memories.

I am going to have about 5 kids. FH has a 7 year old son so I am definitely welcoming the other kids so everyone will have a good time.

Our RH has a room with a DVD player that we can put on at night when it gets late. That is what I am most worried about- the reception is from 7-12 which is really late for these kids.
