Ok so here we go.. My daughter who will be turning 2 right around my wedding is going to be the FG. we are planning on useing her 3yr cousin as the RB. He is the problem...We are not inviting children to the reception, only children in the BP will be there. The RB has a sister that is 1yr older than him. Is it rude if I ask the parents to only bring their son. Also if they do bring their daughter I get slammed with the why can;t my kids come thing and we end up wioth 10 kids under the age of 7 there which we really do not want, 1 b/c I will have to pay for kids who eat almost nothing and to my RH is small and there is not much space aside from the dance floor for them to run around. What would you do???? I am really at a loss!!!

Re: Kids at wedding
i think you should either let her bring both kids or neither of the kids (maybe her son can be the RB and then go home during the CH).
you're allowed to have any kids you want ... if people ask about why their kids can't come, then you'll just say the truth 'it's an adult reception'.
FH and I are also doing adult reception, but we have 5 total kids

Re: Kids at wedding
I don't think you can invite one kid and not his/her siblings. BUT, you can explain to people that you are only having children in the BP and their siblings at the wedding. That would narrow it down to your daughter, the RB, and his sister.
ETA: Actually, I take some of that back....it also depends on what the parents of the RB think. For instance, two of FH's cousins (16 and 18) are his GM's. But they have a little sister (around 7) and she is not invited. But the mother specifically asked if she was invited or not (in a polite way) and actually said she'd rather her NOT be there, lol.

I wouldn't invite one child and not the other. I feel like they are too close in age for that. It might be different if one was 18 and one was 2, but they are only a year apart.

i agree with the fact that you can't invite one child & not the other.
kids at weddings are big involved issues. (i am also currently dealing with an issue over a child at the wedding).

I agree. I think you have to invite both of them since there is a small age difference between them.
