Kids at wedding - DILEMMA

Kids at wedding - DILEMMA

I was going to be inviting kids to the wedding but I already know that most of my cousins will be finding babysitter for their children as they have already mentioned it to me. (All of the children will be less than 3 years old) I had planned on inviting the babies but my stepmom said no way theyre too little to come to a wedding even though its in the afternoon. Now - here comes the issue - FH's sister who lives out of state will have 2 small children as well but there is a ton of drama going on with the family and being that she doesn't live here she won't be able to find a sitter for them (the ones who would normally sit will be at the wedding) Not sure what I should do in this case...

can she split costs with your cousins who are getting a sitter, and have the person watch both kids?

It's fine to have an 'adult reception' but I think children of the immediate family should be allowed to attend the reception. My friend is having an adult reception but her sister's daughter's will be there; the youngest just turned 1.

who are the other kids going to be left with. Maybe, if it's family or someone the other parents trusts, ur FSIL can leave her kid with them too.

i dunno

See the cousins on my side are leaving their kids with their granparents from the other side of the family and stuff like that - so it would be kind of weird to ask them to watch an additional 2 kids that they dont know. I'm thinking maybe we'll just invite them and if anyone says anything just say oh there was no one to watch them

OR

should I invite all the kids just to be polite even though I know that they wont be bringing them...

I would invite them all then if you know already they wont be coming, saves drama I think.

will your cousins create drama if they know you're inviting you FSIL's kids and not theirs?

i dont see the problem with having immediate family's kids there. invariably there's one or 2 kids at most of the weddings ive been to. we will be inviting FH's goddaughter and her little sister, but no other kids. if someone has a problem with it, scr#w them.

I say allow their kids to come. Some people really just can't help that they have kids and can't find someone to watch them. Seriously, kids at a wedding aren't a big deal.

I say just allow the kids at the wedding maybe your cousins won't bring them anyway because it really is a hassle to have kids at weddings! they probably want ot have fun so they won't bring their kids anyway but at least you told them they could bring t heir kids so there are no misunderstandings!!
