kids hold train of dress?

my fmil wants to add two little kids to bridal party which is fine. i considered them early on but the mom worried they were too young.. so now.. i guess its being reconsidered.. blah blah..

they will be 5 and 7 at time of wedding, both boys. what are they? ring-bearers? my fmil wants them to hold the end of my dress as I walk.. i don' t think my dress-train? is long enough though.. what do u call dress holders?

I think they may be a lil young to hold your dress but they are the perfect age to be ring bearers

I would have them as ring bearers, not 'dress holders'

okay cool...

and do they actually hold the rings? and i guess are encouraged by bridal party cousins or mom and dad in nearby seat to hand over the rings at right time.. type of thing? and given the rings like two seconds before the ceremony starts?

normally the ring bearers do not hold the rings they hold pillows that sometimes has false rings tied to them (optional) usually the best man or maid of honor will hold the actual rings..
