$74pp (w/out tax & gratuity) on a Saturday night - (it helps that my brother works for Lessings)

I'm paying $75 pp. including tax and gratuity. That includes cocktail hour, reception and Parisian dessert which is where you get cookies and pastries brought to each table, with choices of coffee (cappucino, espresso) with a cordial bar of various things like Godiva chocolates. Includes cake also of course. And open bar, including some imported beers that I know some people prefer.

I was going to have 2 meat carvings and unlimited shrimp during cocktail hour, but that made it $87 pp., and I didn't think we honestly really needed it.

If I would have gotten married on a Sat. night or during another month, it probably would be have been much higher.

Well, we have it down to two places

Westbury Manor $81 for a Friday Night in May, includes cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, wedding cake and open bar. Includes tax and gratuity, and for a friday nite in may that's a very good deal, the menu is fabulous :)

On Saturday we are going to see The Swan Club, which for a sunday afternoon wedding, (my second choice date) including tax and gratuity, it's $76 pp, with all of the above,
not sure about the flowers, Westbury Manor doesn't include them either.

I also like the Harbor Club, but I can't afford the room mins for May

So hopefully by Sunday, I will know where I'm having my reception YAY! lol

Westbury Manor quoted me a little higher than that, not including tax and gratuity, for a Friday night in October. I can't imagine October being more expensive than May. I wonder why you got it for lower.

Yeah, Saturdays are probably around $10 higher than Fridays like when I'm having it. And if I wanted to do it in September or October on a Friday like I had first wanted, it would have been $10 higher also. Surprisingly, August would have been a few dollars cheaper than in November which I thought was odd.

we are paying $85 plus the service charge and gratuity for a Sunday night in November. We had to guarentee 175 people.

It's amazing the difference in price from a friday to a saturday.....way over 10 dollars difference in every place I looked (I'm sure it varies depending on the place). At Atlantica, the price for a friday night was like 110 pp for summer w/out tax & g, for a saturday it's like 160 w/out t & g! Crazy right.

Site fee is just a fee to use the mansion. In our case, St Johns university owns the mansion and lessings does the catering, so we are renting the mansion for the day from St Johns. The Bourne is in Oakdale overlooking the Great South Bay

Wow, I didn't kow that SJU owns the Bourne Mansion. Do they use it for anything else besides weddings?

The Bourne used to be owned by LaSalle Military academy. St Johns bought it a few years ago. I think the buildings around it are being used as a Satelite campus for one of their masters programs. I don't know if they do anything else besides weddings. Maybe corp function?

hrmm $65 plus tax and 18% grat
this included cocktail hour and sit down dinner with three choices of entrees, the cake, the centerpieces, the color choices on linens and such.

We technically paid about $8500 all and all but that included the ceremony too ($300) which is an extra hour and includes the set up for that as well. That's inclusive of Tax & Grat. min of 100 people.

oh my $8500 for the place
i think i am going to have a heart attack!!!

Uhmm.. is that good or bad. I thought it was a great price for all im getting.. and $8500 is the bottom line number. I think it was like $8535 to be exact.
You think I paid too much?
