Kind of a spin-off of Jenny's belly question..

So, I'm curious to know what other odd things or unexpected physical things you experienced after childbirth. You know the things they don't necessarily tell you about in the books....

Hmmm the line down my belly from my belly button to my area stayed for about 6 months.

Ummmm... thats about it for me. Except for the scar on my stomach Im about the same.

My pubic bone use to ache. I guess it was the pelvis going back into place because it eventually stopped but it especially happened at night.

I'm sure there are more things but I have to think...

Oh lordy... if you end up with an episiotomy or tear, don't plan on sitting comfortably for a while.

I also had a reaction to having the chemicals from the epidural in my body, and it caused my skin to break out something awful. It's not much of a problem, except that it looks bad. Luckily it's clearing up now.

skin break outs...trouble 'down there' ...trouble sitting comfortably..stretch marks....having to sleep in a nursing bra, ...unexpected leaking from nipples...

but I had a beautiful new baby!

Bled for almost 6 weeks -- some days heavier then others depending on how much I did that day (especially if I bent down a lot). And my boobs WERE KILLING ME!!! I had to sit and put bags of frozen veggies (broccoli and peas, the only 2 I had ) on them for 20 minutes at a time!!! There I was sitting on the couch with frozen veggies on my boobs!!! Joe almost fell on the floor with that one!

And the baby blues -- you just start crying for no reason at all at any time!!! You're very happy, but your hormones ARE ALL OVER THE FRIGGIN PLACE!!! Joe would turn around and say 'what's wrong now? Aren't you happy?' as I'm filling up her bottle or changing her diaper or just doing nothing!!

ddunne - just to make you feel better....I was more fortunate. I think my bleeding was only about 2 weeks...6 weeks! Insurance should also cover the cost of pads

These posts sound like the girlfriends guide to pregnancy. I guess that is what we have become as we go through this process.
