If any of you are inviting any gay couples to your wedding, how are you addressing the envelope? I have a girl cousin who is married, and they both now have the same last name. But, generally you write Mr. and Mrs. John Smith or whatever. So, do I write Mrs. and Mrs. Jane Doe? LOL it just sounds so weird to me

Yeah absolutely. We're inviting a gay unmarried couple and we did Mr. John & Mr. Smith...so I'd assume if they're married you'd definitely put Mr. & Mr. Smith, pending who's last name they took, out of respect, treat them like any other married couple.

Believe it or not I actually have a wedding book that answers that question lol. Yes you should do Mrs. and Mrs. Jane Doe

I've read that the plural for Mrs. is Mesdames so you would put 'The Mesdames Jane Doe.' But that looks WAY weirder than 'Mrs. and Mrs Jane Doe,' which doesn't sound weird at all, so I'd go with Mrs. and Mrs.

My cousin had this situation and just wrote 'mr and mr John and joe smith'. I don't see anyone getting offended, and if you think they would, ask them how they prefer to be addressed.

I'm addressing my uncle's invite and his husband as Mr. and Mr. :)

I love the Mesdames thing! haha but people may get confused so I'd go Mr and Mr or so on!
