I am getting married in July. FH & I would like to try having children pretty soon after that.
The problem is that while I have not been dignosed with anything, I feel as though I have strong signs of endometrosis (sp?) I have been to the doctor for cysts that form on and around my ovaries that disappear on their own, but come back from time to time. And at times I experience pain during sex. Also, I have very heavy and painful periods.
All of my annual pap smears come back normal as well as any tests for STD's. I am so worried that I am going to have a hard time getting pregnant or worse not be able to get pregnant at all.
I would appreciate any feed back especially from those who may be in the same boat.
Thanks

Re: Kind of Nervous....Please help.
A good friend of mine was diagnosed with endometrius...all I know is that she had to have two operations to get rid of scar tissue of something in the uterus. Her MD told her that her best shot to get pregnant was in the next two years, after that, she probably wouldn't be able to have children.
I'm not sure about the tests, but I'd make an appointment with your OB/GYN and express your concerns.

I would definately bring your concerns to your OBGYN. What are symptoms of it?

Re: Kind of Nervous....Please help.
I have a friend who has severe endometriosis... she cannot have children and worse she is allergic to the anasthetic used to try to alleviate her symptoms... heavy and often debilitating periods.
I too thought at one time that I had this... after a series of tests, it was determined that a hormonal imbalance had thickened my uterine wall and made my periods irregular, heavy, and painful. They put me on BC to regulate my periods and try to thin out my uterus.
Call your doc, only an OB/GYN will know for sure.

I would def. talk to your Obgyn. I also get severe cysts on my ovaries-- and was even hospitalized when one ruptured.. They told me I would take longer than normal to get pregnant-- I got pregnant with my son on my honeymoon! One week after stopping the pill! Go figure. It is taking us longer now trying for our second -- but I know that I can have children.. Talk to your Dr -- I am sure there are tests they can do ... Best of luck !

I think that if you would like to start having children soon after you are married, then there is no reason why you couldnt talk to your doctor now. Just go in and ask a ton of questions!!!! I was told a while ago that I have 'slight' endometriosis. Not really sure what that means, but know that it can lead to sterility. I always had ovarian cysts and HEAVY flow, which is why I was put on BC when I was really young. I am staying on BC until about June and made an appointment to meet with my doctor about TTC. I think the earlier they catch it the better! Good luck

I agree. You should make a pre-conception appointment with your doctor and voice your concerns.
This could be an issue weather you are TTC or not.
If you have an annual exam scheduled soon make sure to talk to her about it then.
Write down all of your questions. I feel this helps when I go to the doctor so i don't forget what I wanted to ask.
