Is it just me or do you girls also think that we happen to be getting married and spending all this money (and asking others to spend all this money on us) during the worst possible economic timing EVER!
It really bums me out at times, especially today when a bunch of my bridesmaids just bailed last minute on my bachelorette party due to cost. I totally understand b/c we're all worried about money these days but I can't help but wonder if things would have been different if I was getting married last year for example. Oh well

yeah I feel this way too sometimes... Im trying to cut costs where I can for my girls but they have known about this wedding for about two years (when the ecomony was still good) so also figured they probably have some money saved for it.. its not like I just sprung it on them.

i totally feel the same way. it definitely s*cks. i've done my best to cut down on costs for my BMs and BP, etc. but it's hard to shake the feeling that we're just hemorrhaging money and worrying about it all the time. however, i just have to stay positive that things will turn around and it will all work out in the end!

Yea! It's the worst time to be getting married. But we can't help the way that times are working out for us. It just so happens that we got engaged when we did and we are planning a wedding when we are. We can't alter our lives based on this situation (to a certain degre.... scale back maybe to save money... but I can't not get married when it's the right time for us because of this econimic catastrophe). Hey, and if anyone is doing something good for our economy... it sure is us brides! Who is spending more money than us in this desperate time?!??!
It still blows though!

YEs, thats why we decided on a small , intimate wedding...so we can still have everything we want and have no regrets...but, keep it costly :)

I waited so long to get married an then when I finally am we are in an economic crisis. I know alot of people can't afford to come to my wedding and I feel bad but they also have known for the last 2 years that I was getting married now. To cut back on cost I told my MOH and BM's not to give me a bridal shower because it is another added expense on them and my guest.

yes and no...i do feel bad it has to be during such a hard time but sometimes im like we r paying ourselves and whoever can make it will make it...im sorry if i sound selfish..i just cant waito be be married to fh
