King Bed

We found a king bed we liked, Simmons Beautyrest...or something like that.
It is 1500 though, is that too much money for a king bed???

Christy thats a great price if the mattress is a good name brand, and is super comfortable.
I paid more when I bought a queen one time.

Re: King Bed

It was really comfy, and more importantly FH and I agreed. He likes a firm bed, and I like a softer bed. So we actually found one we like. They took off the tax and delivery, and then knocked off another 200 cause FH needs to negotiate always!
Just want to make sure we arent getting ripped off. It is a simmons beautyrest bed.

Re: King Bed

One night while at my FH's office, we decided to give 1-800-mattress a call. (We had just moved into our home and I couldn't take sleeping on the queen bed anymore.)

I wanted a high bed just like my girlfriends (mind you, her master bedroom is something like 30' x 30').

I was watching TV when they arrived with the mattress/boxspring and Kevin took care of everything. All of a sudden, Kevin comes into the family room with this look of horror! He starts cracking up and says 'You gotta' see how high this thing is!!!' Sure enough, the thing is up to my hip and I'm 6'1'! At first we thought it might be too big, but now we wouldn't trade it for the world! It just took a little getting used to.

I love big, high beds!!!!

Re: King Bed

have you looked around elsewhere (or on the net) to see what others are asking for it?

Re: King Bed

I cant seem to get prices online! It is annoying, and I just started shopping today.

Re: King Bed

Christy, everybody that sees it tells my FH that he needs a step stool to get into bed. (he's 5'10')

Re: King Bed

Re: King Bed

jenn, isn't it a great feeling being able to hang your feet over the side and not touch the floor!?! Ahh, the little things in life!

Thanks girls!

Re: King Bed

christy, does 1800mattress carry it? If so, were they asking for more or less? BTW, they do negotiate as well.

christy Posted:

Re: King Bed

It looks like 100 less, but with tax it should be the same. HMMMMMMMMM negotiating is FH's favorite thing to do! LOL

Re: King Bed

Christy, that's a GREAT price! We paid nearly double that for our king.

I will say that having a king sized bed is one of the best decisions we made. I LOVE all the room.

Re: King Bed

christy, FH and I bought a Simmons Beautyrest King too. (FYI - At Sleepy's we found the BEST price)

Is yours a Worldclass pillowtop? (ours was)
If so, that's a pretty good price.
What the bed manufacturers do is they recycle the SAME mattress w/a different name and every matrress store has the SAME one named something else, which makes price comparison a little difficult, so what you would have to do is get all the details on the mattress, whether its just a plain Beautyrest, or if its a worldclass pillowtop, Then you can do your price comparison.
So you can get the best price
