It is like a big round ball covered in flowers and the flower girl just holds it by the strings. I don't really know the purpose of it though.

They are also called Pomanders. when I get to my laptop I will be able to pull some up for you.
I have seen them as an alternative to a petal basket for FGS, or even in place of BM Bouquets. They can be really really pretty, I have instructions on how to make them somewhere
