Kitchen Skirmish - UPDATE!

Kitchen Skirmish - UPDATE!

There was just an email sent to all 200 or so of us sitting in this huge open plan room saying Missing Mug - AGAIN! as the subject. SEems someone has stolen someone else's mug and this isn't the first time.

Who's the culprit????

Oops, it's me

I swear I didn't know! I don't even know the woman, it's such a big office that you can see someone every day and not know who they are.

Now, how to get it back into the kitchen without anyone seeing me do it!

Farah!!! That's her prized, antique mug!! It was probably passed down from whiny generation to whiny generation! And you boosted it without even a thought! Were you planning on selling it on the black market? Gleefully shattering it with malice and spite? Or something even more sinister... drinking a beverage out of it!?!?

Re: Kitchen Skirmish

This is hilarious. I have seen it happen here a few times. I lost two of my favorite mugs here and I don't think they were stolen. Around here, I think they were stacked on the side of the sink in the kitchenette and then they fell and broke. Who really wanted my Hofstra mug anyway?

You probably need to bring it to the kitchen along with something else. Put it in a shopping bag or just wait until the end of the day.

Re: Kitchen Skirmish

How do you take someone elses mug? What were you doing, girl?

IMO, I find it nasty to drink out of someone elses mug at work. even thoguh its the same as if you went to their house. I just fnd they dont clean it as well as they would if they were home. I look at some of the mugs here and feel like puking its so nasty. Like people dont clean as well if they werent at home.

SIDE NOTE ~ Someone stole my mug about a week ago, was it you?

No wonder they hate us Americans! Now for the smuggling back part....You could put it...down your pants if wearing a large sweater over them...in your hand, with your coat draped over your arm...down your sock...OR you can send out an email to everyone saying, 'MUG FOUND!!!!!!!' Someone must really hate you because I found your mug in the garbage!

ETA: Ewww someone else's mug?! Hope you washed it out well first!

As ecologically UNfriendly as it is, paper is always the way to go.

I've seen too many disgruntled staff members doing things to their employers mugs to even consider it.

I think you should reply with a complete confession of your immortal acts, and beg for forgiveness. Perhaps flowers and chocolates would be appropriate as well.

Personally, I do not understand why anyone would leave something of personal importance to them in a shared area of the office. Now, if you had opened up her desk to take the mug I could see the email she sent making some sense. If she left it in the kitchen, then I can understand why you thought it was for community use.

Ahhh isn't it fun when life resembles Dilbert?

Re: Kitchen Skirmish - Update!

Okay, mission accomplished - I don't think anyone saw me. I just ahd to stay an extra half hour after work to do it!

Mug has been returned, clean and sparkling, into the draining rack...which, by the way, is where I got it in the first place!!! If you really don't want anyone using your mug, you should put it in the cupboard, or put a big HANDS OFF, IT'S MINE sign on it!

Somewhere there is a drumset and cymbols playing just for me.

Crazy lady should put a bell on her mug so she'll know if someone took it.
