Kitchenaid Stand Mixer

Kitchenaid Stand Mixer

Got a little issue...

We're registered for it in Empire Red, which I always thought was the super pretty pearl red one with the metallic finish.

As it turns out, the one I'm referring to is actually called Candy Apple Red, and, of course, with my luck, its some 90 year limited edition model, which happens to be $349.

The one we have on there now is $262, so it's pretty much a $100 difference, which sucks.

Now, we're also thinking of perhaps doing Onyx Black...which is even cheaper at $202.

So, for those of you who have you, which color do you think we should go with???

First of all, great choice with a kitchenaid mixer! I have had mine since I was in college (about 6 years now) and I use it all the time and am obsessed with it!! I didn't have a choice in color when I got it, so I have the boring white one.

I love the red one and think its pretty but black is probably more practical seeing as how you probably don't know what your kitchen will look like for the next 30 years. Black is always classic.

FH bought me one for my birthday. I wanted pink but he bought black because it was more practical and would match any kitchen we have.

Bloomingdales has a limited edition one in hot pink! I'm dyingggg for that one, but again, a) FH would rather shoot himself than have a massive pink mixer in our kithcen and b) its an additional $150 on top of the price!

Well, i would want green

I love color, so I still say red but not the really pricey one

I chose black for practicality... Although, I secretly wished I could have the pink one!!

We keep going back and forth. Believe it or not, FH is the one that is all for the color!!

He actually wanted green because he alleges it matches our kitchen (it totally doesn't )...

In reality, whenever I pictured finally owning this mixer, I always pictured it in Red! (Though I secretly wish it was the Bloomingldaes limited edition hot pink )

We are registering for the stainless steel to match our appliances. If your appliances are black then I'd probably go with that.

Its just RUDE to jack up the prices of the pretty colored ones. It's like hair straighteners. Why is it $30 more for the Zebra print?!

I feel the same way! I could care less that it's a 90 year anniversary edition, to be quite honest! I just LOVE the candy apple red! Plus, it comes with the clear glass bowl too!

But, the Empire Red is still lovely, so I think we'll stick with that!

I am registered for the Empire Red...I love the Candy Apple one too but I would rather get the cheaper red one than have an empty spot on my counter bec no one wanted to pay that much for a different color LOL....Red rocks!!!

This was our exact logic. FH said that no one would EVER spend $349 on a mixer, and I completely agree. If anything, maybe it'll go down in price....

I actually thought Empire Red WAS Candy Apple Red, so I was super bummed out to find out that it wasn't

But, we're now adding a Red DeLonghi latte maker to match it

My MOH has the candy apple one and it's so pretty! She has a black and white kitchen with staneless steel appliances and all red accents! So pretty!!! Love the look! I have the staneless kitchen aid which is also more money, but my mommy got it for me for my engagement present!! SO AWESOME!!! Use it ALL the time!!!

I would say save on color and put the money toward a great attachment or something. I'm a pretty serious baker so I had to get the larger/ more powerful one which only comes in white and pewter. I stuck with white. I have abused my mom's mixer for years and it's still going strong. This is something you're going to have for years in this home and maybe several future homes. I'd personally stick with s neutral.

I feel like black would be your best bet. If you're like me and need everything to match, it will go w anything lol. I do love the red one though

RED!! screw practicality lol. Whichever one you get, i'm sure you can return and put the difference down for the one you want.

i would put the one you really want on the registry. its the type of item you probably wont buy for yourself because even the cheaper one in still costly. and people might suprise you with their generousity at your shower. and if you dont end getting it has a gift im sure you will get gift certificate you could always put towards it.
