Re: Kleinfeld Bridal

well i wanted to try on more than one designer so that was a big thing for me. Kleinfelds has the biggest selection, they always have at least 1500 samples in the store. I wanted to try kenneth pool, i also did try reem acra(infact when i went it happened to be the day of reem acra's trunk show) and wanted to see other designers too so that was a big thing for me. That is the reason why i didnt go just to a designers store bc i wouldve had to go to a couple of them and this way i just went to one place to see them all

they dont really have deals lol, well if you go during a trunk show and buy that designers dress that day then you do get 12% off but every store that has a trunk show does that

Yea I figured that is the reason why b.c they have so much, yesterday I went to the Amsale and BGoodman, they suggested we go so I guess I should just go.Granted I fell in love with a Carolina Herrara dress but BG alterations were KRAZY and the price was WAY TOO MUCH 9k without alterations or taxes!!

they are the largest bridal store in the country and carry all different designers. if you went to reem acra, kenneth poole, priscilla of boston...they only really carry their line. i went there for the variety.

well carolina herrara is more on the pricey side so yeah 9k is about right for one of her dresses. The alterations are always separate from dress price no matter where you go. Did they say how much they cap for alterations? its always a cap they put on it. But no matter where you go that carries Carolina HErrara you will pay around that

Kleinfelds also charges alot for alterations. When i bought my dress the cap was $525 or was it $575 i keep forgetting, that price did include the bustle though. But on average alot of other stores cap alterations at $250-350 without bustle that is separate usually. I think ive seen other girls posting more recently that now its $600 for alterations, not 100% sure but thats what ive seen others say.

See like lets say you loved a REEM dress why not just go to Reem and get it?

My sister did Amsale and it was cheaper to go to Amsale then the other stores.

I am going to Mark Ingram and Reem this week prob try to squeeze in Kleinfeld sometime they have open. Is it crazy in there? meaning like tons and tons of brides? I prob go during the week after work 5pm.

They told me between 450-900 they are not sure how much depends when the dress actual comes it which really annoyed me and threw me off. I know Iam paying for like Herrara name but the dress is simple. I guess I kept on searching!

well if you knew 100% you were getting a reem acra dress then yes that is fine.

But most dont go into a bridal store knowing exactly which dress they will buy. Some have ideas yes but still want to try others on too. I had one dress in mind i really liked but still wanted to try other dresses and they were not all by the same designer. Thank god bc the dress i liked all along didnt look right on me and didnt go with it. Like i said before, i didnt go in saying I WILL ONLY buy this designer. I wanted to try kenneth pool, well amsale started kenneth pool actually and one dress i tried was kenneth pool by amsale. I did try on Reem acra also and also wanted to see POB and a few other designers too. I also met amsale herself at Kleinfelds so they do go there too. I also did NOT want to go to a million stores, i hate shopping lol

When i went it wasnt crazy, i saw maybe 2 other brides in there, i think there were more but on the other side of the hall. If you want to go after 5pm it has to be on a thursday bc thats when they close at 8pm. I went on a saturday and they closed at 6pm so i took their last appt at 4:30.

I went there too....but ultimately got my dress from kleinfelds. BG was really nice but the alterations were extremely high. Just so you know, I am having Kleinfeld ship my dress to a friend that lives in NJ, so I'm not paying for tax. saves alot of $$$ when you are making a rather large purchase!

Even if u like a Reem dress, u may find something else at Kleinfeld's. They really are terrific. I explained what I was looking for and she went and got exactly the type of dress that I described. Every1 is super nice and they can work within *most* budgets. It's not crazy in there----it's actually very organized. The way the schedule the appt keeps things from getting too crazy. I went to a few smaller shops first, but just didn't get the same feeling that I got from Kleinfelds.

EXACTLY!!!! when searching online and in magazines there are so many dresses you never see or consider. You can go into kleinfelds saying ok i want reem acra, but then end up seeing a Lazaro you never saw and never thought of and falling in love with that dress, or a badgley mischka, Rivini and the many many other designers they have.

I really wanted a Melissa Sweet or some other designer whose name I can no longer remember!
I actually planned to go to the 1 designer's store but couldn't get an appt for 2 months (ridiculous) so I made the appt at Kleinfeld's. I wound up w/ a Marisa dress and it was perfect!

Re: Kleinfeld Bridal

I found my dress at BGoodman but it was the first place I went to so I decided to look around. Ines Di Santo is only carried in one other store in NY, so I went to Bridal Reflections. They beat the price of the dress at Bgoodman and the alterations were less.

Re: Kleinfeld Bridal

something to consider in this economy is that small bridal boutiques may go out of business but its less likely kleinfelds will.... if y ou know what dress you want and the other store has a better price (and your confident they will still be there) I'd go for the cheaper dress.

I got 12% Off my dress and veil at kleinfelds and it wasn't a trunk show. I just got them to decrease it when I was acting like I was torn b/c I wanted it but it was too much.

I also had absolutely no patience to go from store to store and then trying to remember which i liked best and then going back to the one I liked. I went dress shopping just 1 time and 1 store. It was great bc i was also allowed to go in their back room where they have ALL the samples and go through all the dresses. After seeing that i was confident that i saw every dress style and tons of dresses and knew i didnt have to look further.
