I know you are supposed to tip the seamstress, but the seamstresses are in the back and the fitter handles the fitting at Kleinfeld. (This is not the sales consultant - the fitter instructs the seamstresses what changes to make to the dress).
The problem is my fitter who was there for the first 2 fittings will not be there at my final fitting(something unexpectedly came up). So do I tip this other fitter who is filling in?

Re: Kleinfeld Brides....
I'm assuming you're talking about the alterations manager. I did not tip her nor did I tip the seamstress. Although in hindsight I would have tipped the seamstress.

I tipped the person who did my fittings. She was amazing!

Re: Kleinfeld Brides....
The alterations manager walks around and observes all the fitting rooms.
I am referring to the woman who puts the dress on you and pins it. I always thought she was a seamstress, but I was wrong. Her card says she is the fitter and on the phone they called her a fitter. I asked her something last time about making a change and she said she will tell the seamstresses.

I didn't tip anyone. They charged enough for the alterations!

Nobody tipped the consultant, right? So what is the standard; seamstress or fitter...both? How much?

Re: Kleinfeld Brides....
Come to think of it most likely the women that help with alterations are fitters, the seamstress would be the one who later sews based on the fitters measurements. So I guess it's the fitter. If you had someone else helping you before maybe send her a thank you card and her part of the tip....that would be sweet.
