Kleinfeld Girls - Veil Question

Kleinfeld Girls - Veil Question

When I ordered my dress I didn't choose a veil because I was just to emotionally exhausted to pick anything else, lol. When am I supposed to go back and order a veil? Their website says you can do it at the first fitting, but that just seems way to close to the wedding to wait for something like that. What did you all do? or plan on doing?

I am a Pronovias bride but I did the same thing. Pronovias told me to order it by Jan or Feb, so I am actually going in Tuesday. I don't think I would wait until your first fitting.

I just bought my veil at my first fitting (not Kleinfelds, but Wedding Atelier). I didn't order it or anything -- I bought it off the rack and they gave me 60% off. They had racks of veils.

girlie.. if you want my honest opinion - here it is - I bought my dress at Kleinfelds. Then I went back like 2 months later to get a veil and of course fell in love with a veil but it was crazy, crazy expensive so I nixed that idea and basically went to Barrons in Tri-County told them what I wanted and how I wanted it and they made it for me for only 140 (that was like 3 times less than what Kleinfelds was charging). It took about a month to come in I think and it matches perfect. So I wouldnt get it from there, save some money, JMO

I was wondering about the same thing. How long does it take to order a veil? On one hand I want everything to look perfect together and I am sure that Kleinfeld's would be great at doing that, but I also want to save $. Also I want something very simple, so I feel like I could get it anywhere.

I went in to this small little place in the city that custom makes them and they have them in a short time period - not as cheap as Barron's but pretty reasonable - of course I was just looking at fingertip length with a simple pencil edge so not that elaborate but the big places seem to be crazy

ok, well, I want somehing fairly simple, a 3 layer layer cathedral length veil with scattered rhinestones (i think) so I'm sure I can get it anywhere but here is my question...how do I ensure the color white matches perfect. I went to a wedding and the girls veil looked grayish white compared to the white of her dress. That is my nightmare! If I don't get it at kleinfelds, how do I go about getting a perfect match. My dress doesn't come in until May so I can't possibly wait for a swatch until then! What did ou do??? AHH the stress HELP!!

Re: Kleinfeld Girls - Veil Question

I just put this on another post - Denise Leli does headpieces and veils. She's does an amazing job and custom makes everything herself and she is charging me half the price of what Kleinfeld was going to for my veil. She's in Manhassat and her phone numbers are 516-381-1236 and 631-686-6012 if you want to call her and make an appointment. She's really great!

the store might have a swatch anyway. .. it wouldn't have to be from your exact dress - just the color. . .

the thing is unless you get the veil from the same desinger as your dress it wont be labeled the same color. I didnt have a swatch of my dress but Kleinfelds labeled it ivory, but it was much lighter than that ... Barrons had this huge book of swatches (all ranges of white and ivory) and I chose the one that matched my dress and honestly they look the same, their is no difference... I have my dress though. so I guess I memorzied the color! lol but do you remember what color it was labeled? I think Kleinfelds gives you a swatch if you ask them for it (even if your dress isnt in)

This is my exact problem....it needs to match but I do not want to pay a fortune. It says on the Kleinfields website that they can give you a swatch when your dress comes in, which they told me would be in April. So I am wondering if that will give me enough time to go to one of the custom places ????

Can't you go to the designer and ask for like a swatch?instead of going though kleinfeld?

Re: Kleinfeld Girls - Veil Question

I did but my veil when i got my dress and it was a huge mistake... i didn't totally know what i wanted and was pushed into getting it by my sales girl... i actually just canceled it this week bc i knew i wanted something different so i am going back to try the dress on again and pick out something different.

Re: Kleinfeld Girls - Veil Question

I'm a Kleinfeld bride and I actually ordered my veil when I ordered my dress. B/c I was there during a trunk show I was able to get a discount on the veil that I fell in love with so I just went for it. I'm sure you cold go anytime and order the veil. They probably just said the first fitting so you dont make extra trips that you dont have to make. I would go and try on the dress again and try on some veils this way you know how it looks together.
