Kleinfeld or POB?

I am ready to start looking for my dress! So excited!

I absolutely love Melissa Sweet dresses, and there are a few of the regular POB dresses that I love as well - I really think that I'll end up with one of those designers - now the question is, should I go to Kleinfeld or to the POB store? Is either one a better experience?
I have heard both amazing and negative things about Kleinfeld, but don't know anyone who has gone to the shop.

I know its a silly thing, but I want buying my dress to be special!!

I just saw that we were date twins! YAY! lol Anyways I haven't gone to either place but maybe the POB store has a greater selection?

I went to both. I went to Kleinfelds in the city and POB in Roslyn. I personally hated my experience at POB. The sales woman was extremely pushy and when they had me trying on veils they all had holes in them. She literally came out with a ball of veils and they looked terrible.

Kleinfelds is much bigger and has soooo many more dresses. When it came time for veils my dress specilaist introduced to me a veil specialist to find a good match. so basically they have different people specializing in each. I loved both of the people I worked with.

At Kleinfelds they showed me cute ways to bustle my veil (its very long) to complement the bustle on my dress. At POB I asked about bustling the veils and the woman and the manager said they had never heard of that. I THEN TAUGHT THEM how to bustle a veil.

I ended up buying the Melissa Sweet Mila dress from Kleinfelds. It was $100 cheaper at POB but I couldn't stand the thought of having to go back their again for fitting etc.

POB may have been better for others, I think alot has to do with the sales person!

The dressing room is much bigger-- its huge (not that this is a basis of my decision), but in the NYC location you get alot of personal attention, you sales lady really listened to me and gave me a ton of options. I felt a little rushed at Kleinfelds and I just thought the POB had a great vibe.

I also had a really amazing exerience at the pronovious store which has a few similar dresses to Melissa Sweet-- is cheaper (with alterations included in the price I believe)-- so if your in the city definitly check that out.

I bought my dress at kleinfelds and had an amazing experience but i also think this depends alot on the salesperson you got. I loved mine and she was great. I was even able to stay longer than the 90 mins they give you and was there for about 2 hours. They were so nice and accomodating to me and the 5 ppl i went with lol. ALso somehow i got lucky and went on a saturday but wasnt packed, there were only 2 other brides that i saw. One was all the way in the back though and another one was far away too so felt i had the place to myself lol. Well maybe that was the benefit of doing a 4:30appt which is the latest they do on a saturday.

Then when my dress came in it all went great. The alterations they did a great job and she was so nice. So luckily i had an amazing experience, but i dont doubt that some have had negative experiences, like i said its all about the salesperson you get, ask for Judith if you want to make an appt there.

Ive heard great things about POB too, i wanted to try quite a few designers so thats why i went to kleinfelds, although i only ended up trying 3 lol. Kleinfelds does have the largest selection of dresses in the store, they always have at least 1500 samples so that is the positive. Either way i think you'll have a great experience at either place.

i went to both in manahattan.

i had a much better experience at POB. but i ended up getting my dress from kleinfelds (non POB designer). go to both!

OK good....I was going to say that if you're looking for experience, check out Pronovias in the city. Glad other girls have! They also carry Manuel Mota cotoure and Elie Saab- check their website before going. pronovias.com

I think I'll check out both - thank you for sharing your experiences! My friend had a great experience at Kleinfeld, so I made an appointment with her in 3 weeks.

Pronovias does have some nice dresses, I guess it can't hurt to go there as well!!
