Is Kleinfelds worth all the hype they boast about?

Re: Kleinfelds
I bought my dress at Kleinfeld's even though I originally didn't want to. I had heard terrible things about them being snotty, etc. but they were so nice and treated me like a princess. I went during a trunk show and met the designer of my gown. He is making some minor changes to the dress just for me! They have a wonderful staff and a great selection. I would suggest going at least to look at dresses to see for yourself.

I got my dress at Kleinfeld and in all honestly the dresses may be a bit expensive to some but you are definitely paying for the service - which is excellent! My dress fit beautifully the day of the wedding and when I took it home - it was packed and stuffed so that it didn't have a wrinkle in it. I took my sweet time picking the dress too - they didnt rush me and were very nice, the place is inpeccable - so your dress will not get dirty and the people are very professional. I would at least make an appointment - check out the place- see if you like what they have to offer - if you don't - then you can always go elsewhere.

I think it's worth the trip whether you buy from there or not. I bought my dress there and I feel very confident. I shopped in other bridal stores too, some with great customer service and others were not so great. It's really a personal choice. I think Kleinfelds is a great place to start at because they have so many dresses, so if nothing else, at least you will get the opportunity to try on a lot of dresses and narrow down what types of styles you like/don't like.
ETS: Not all of their dresses are over-the-top expensive. My dress was $1200 and every bit as beautiful as some of the $5000 dresses, at least in my opinion.

Re: Kleinfelds
I bought my Eve of Milady at Kleinfeld's and it was CHEAPER than Bridal Reflections. The woman at Klenfeld's said that people's perception is that they are more expensive but they guarantee the lowest price around. Yes they carry more expensive designers but their guarantee is the lowest price for that designer ...

If you need another place to go, you should definately check out Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn. They have beautiful dresses and I feel they treat you better than Kleinfelds. Good Luck!

Re: Kleinfelds
I got my dress there at one of their sample sales. It's worth a visit if it is convenient to get to. I found their alteration schedules to be a pain especially if you work FT. They only have limited evening hours and many times the appointments run over and you sit there waiting. Also you can only make one appointment at a time - so you can not schedule ahead of time. But they do do an excellent job with the alterations.

It was $300 cheaper but then I added 1' to the top of my dress and alterations were $$ so techincally I didn't save much but it was still $300 less than I would have spent ...
