Re: KLEINFELDS

Never heard of it! Don't give them a credit card number!!! You can go elsewhere for a dress!

Re: KLEINFELDS

Yes - Kleinfeld's does that. If you no-show they will hit your credit card for $50 as a fee.

Re: KLEINFELDS

they have some nerve if you ask me!!!! I told them that I have never heard of any other bridal store asking for a cc number to make an appt. She told me they have been doing it for 2 years. I told her no thank you I'll take my business elsewhere!!

Re: KLEINFELDS

Yes they do do that and I do this it's ridiculous but I gave it to them anyway. They say they do it just so you don't just not show up at your appointment. I am glad I did though because the woman who helped me help find my dress and while I didn't get it there they have such a HUGE selection. Plus you can look at a bunch of gowns on the racks where as alot of other stores you can't. I know it's annoying and ridiculous but if you can deal I would go.

Re: KLEINFELDS

Yes, they take your credit card number to hold the appt for first appointments only. They want to make sure you show up. If you don't show up and don't cancel they will call you and tell you they are charging $50 to your card. This is standard practice for them...and has been for a long time. Appts with them are so in demand they have to make sure people show up. They only do it for the first appt, and they will not charge your card without calling you first should it be necessary.

Re: KLEINFELDS

They don't accept walk-ins to look at gowns? Are appts. required or can I just walk in one day out of the blue?

Re: KLEINFELDS

No they don't, you have to have an appt.

I was asked by Kleinfields and Saks in the city. If you know you will make the appt. no problem.

not only to you have to have an appointment - you have to stick to your allocated time!!! as soon as your appt is up, it's up!!!!

Actually I have an appt. at Saks and Bergdorfs in a few weeks and they never asked me for my cc number.

Re: KLEINFELDS

They aren't that bad.....really. I didn't get any of this when I went the first time. They were really patient....I called the same day I went. I still had to give them a credit card number, but as long as you call before you arrive you'll get in. I went on a Saturday at 2:30 after calling them at 12:00 from my cell phone. My appt. lasted over an hour and the sales person was really patient.

If you wanted to go...go..don't let this stuff stop you. They have been fantastic to deal with.

Re: KLEINFELDS

I really just wanted to go because I know they carry Reem Acra gowns, but Saks does too so I'll end up seeing them there. Kleinfelds is kind of out of the way for me anyway.

Re: KLEINFELDS

Totally understandable!

If you decide to go, FM me and I'll give you the names of the people I've dealt with there. They have been my angels....

Re: KLEINFELDS

Yes. They did this to me. If you have to cancel the appointment, you must do so at least 24 hours prior or they charge you $50.

I thought it was weird but whatever. I ended up getting my dress from there and had a wonderful experience with them throughtout the ordering stages.

Re: KLEINFELDS

As long as you cancel two days prior your credit card will not be charged. I did this a few times and it was fine---no problem at all. A little bit of a hassle but the place is like the bridal emporium! Just one trip wasn't enough

Re: KLEINFELDS

ok, I will try to keep this as 'nice' as possible so as not to get erased by LIW for bad-mouthing or whatever the policy is they have.....I had a HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE experience with that place!! I grew up in the neighborhood and my whole life I couldn't wait to be a bride so I could go there and try on their dresses. Well, this is what happened to me....I made an appointment and gave then my cc # and all that crap. I had absolutely no intentions of canceling my appt. My sister came in from college and everything. Unfortunately, my mother called me that afternoon at work to tell me I should leave work right away and come home b/c my grandmother who had cancer had been rushed to the hospital. Of course I was upset but I called a BM to let her know what was going on so that no one panicked when my mom, sis and I didn't show up. She said she'd handel it and call Kleinfeld's and tell them. Fine, she calls and the woman assures her that they are sorry and will not charge my card. Don't you know that the next day they call me and tell me that b/c I went against their policy of 'no cancelations' they charged me $50!! I was freaking out! I understand that stores have policies, but this was an emergency and should have been an exception! Can you believe that I actaully had to fight with them to get my $$ back?? Unreal! How greedy can you get?! It wasn't the $$ it was the point, how could you do that to someone? They didn't care about me as a person, all they cared about was getting my $$. It just goes to show you what kind of a place you are dealing with.
Just be prepared if you go there to deal with people that only see dollar signs when they look at you. They'll sell you anything!!
