How are their prices? I noticed that they carry more expensive designers but is there an incentive to go to kleinfelds if let's say you really like jim jhelm? Wouldn't you find the same dress for less in li than you would in the city?

Re: kleinfelds..
I went and I hated it, the dresses are in a room in plastic bags. My person ignored my budget and brought out dresses so out of my range.
I printed out two dresses in which they didnt have either dress, and I tried on a total of 3 dresses within an hour and 15 min appt.
my suggestion try to go to other stores that carry Jim Helm. Then if you cant find it then make an appt with them., but only as a last resort.

Re: kleinfelds..
Everyone has a diff experience with them. A dozen of my friends have been there... they used to be located in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. One of my good friend's had an awesome experience and found her dress in under 15 min and bought it...no probs. Antoher of our friend's had anxiety and stressfrom day one. She went to pick up her dress a month before the wedding and they didn't even send it out after the last fitting...it still had pins in it. So...I would say, try it if it isn't out of your way. Every store has some off day or someone who works there who has an off day. If you do go...bring your entourage. I found that people who showed up with more than 2 other people, they were treated like royalty and were very impressed. Of course...that turned me off about them. JMO

I had her too and she is AMAZING and such a sweet person. She let me stay past my 90 min appt, never asked me about a budget and only brought out things i liked. She also let me go in the back where they keep all their dresses to look through all of them. She even went crazy looking for a calla lily bok since i said i was using them for my wedding. I had narrowed it down to 2 dresses and everyone loved one dress on me, i loved it too but i had a pic of the other dress for months so bc of that couldnt get it out of my head lol, the other dress i had a pic of was more expensive and she convinced me to go with the one that was a little less expensive bc her and the manager and everyone i was with felt it looked better on me and she said although she can make more money by selling me a more expensive dress, she wouldn't feel right doing so when the other dress looks better. I told her which designers I liked and she only brought out those designers and also i told her what style i liked and every dress was exactly what i was looking for. They were all so great, even alterations went perfect and seamstresses was so nice

I went there twice and both times I worked with Keasha! I LOVED both experiences. Keasha was phenominal! Super sweet. She asked my budget and stayed within that. My dress was 2800 and I got discounts on everything I bought that day. My dress came to 2500. I also got my veil and headpiece there as well and they gave me 12.5% off!!! The first time I went there I found a dress but I wasn't 100% because it was OPPOSITE what I thought I would have. I ended up HATING every dress that was in the range of what I thought I'd end up with. Keasha could tell that I wasn't ready to make that commitment yet and she actually told my BM that she won't let me buy that dress that day because she knew I was iffy on it. To me that's a wonderful sales person... a needs based sales person and not a used car sales person! She told me when to come back. I figured in the mean time I would shop around and see what I find. I thought I would find the dress ... but no luck... kept going back to that original dress and when I came back I was sold and I had a dress. Keasha helped me find the right dress for me! I love her!

Re: kleinfelds..
I had an EXCELLENT experience at Kleinfeld's. They showed me dresses within my price range and everything my salesperson brought to me was perfect. I went in with rip-outs from magazines...and also a list of 'What I Like' and 'What I Don't Like' - it helped to streamline the process and I found an amazing, fantastic dress. They also had sale items and samples that were fab...

I actually loved my kleinfeld's experience too and bought my dress there. I met with Pauline. They have the most dresses of any store in the country and i didn't know what i wanted to i loved the variety. If you're pretty specific about the designer you want i'd prob look into who has the widest selection of jh.
i got a discount on my dress and veil too... but honestly they were still both expensive. They don't really have dresses on the cheaper side... they range $1800 to like $40,000

Re: kleinfelds..
Since we're on the topic, am I not being realistic with going in there with a $3500 budget including alterations when I really want a huge princess ball gown? I'm feeling pretty discouraged with looking online bc all the dresses that catch my eye seem to be over my budget. I haven't actually tried on any yet, but it's kind of frustrating when browsing.....
I can handle it, tell me straight out please any input appreciated

You are totally being realistic. I told them the same budget..... I got a dress, veil, thomas knoell headpice and alterations all together came to like 4000. Without the Thomas Knoell headpiece it would have been under $3500. So I KNOW you can do it! I DID IT!

Haha thanks for responding, I was going to describe the dream dress as the big white beast but wasn't sure if you'd see this lol!
Thanks to everyone else for responding, I was thinking of checking out RK bridal too. I just feel like FH and I have been able to get everything we want so far without settling so I certainly dont want to settle in this area. I just also feel a little guilty spending too much, we shall see!

you can find something great with that budget. But will also depend on which designers you're interested in so keep that in mind before going and do research on average cost of designers. For example Kenneth pool starts at $4k and to be honest i didnt even really see many in the 4k range, most were $5600 and up. The two dresses i decided between were both kenneth pool and one was 10k but i didnt get that one, thats the one everyone convinced me not to buy, it just didnt flatter me, once it was bustled the front got a bit bustled too, hard to explain and with my short torso and being 5'2 didnt work out well lol. But theres still other great designers you can find in the $3500 range, but also keep in mind that alterations which include bustled at kleinfelds are $575, and don't forget about tax
