Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
One of my bridesmaids very kindly took it upon herself to make an an appointment at Kleinfelds. I am kinda nervous that the gowns there are way out of my budget. I am looking to spend around $3,000. Do you think the sales people will snub me when I tell them my budget? Has anyone had a positive experience at Kleinfeld's with a budget on the 'low' side? I am considering canceling my appointment. What do you think?

Re: Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
I am in the same predicament. Although I'm sure there are gowns there that can fit that budget, I feel for the dresses that I want (big and poofy and a bit detailed) I doubt I can fit it into my budget of $3500 including alterations, I'm considering raising it to 5k but really dont want to and who knows if I'll find anything then lol. I'm sorry I'm a little frustrated with this situation too myself, good luck! I wouldn't cancel though at least give it a shot. I have asked this same question on here, it all depends on the designer and what you exactly want. Girls have done it, hopefully theyll reply again,

Re: Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
I never went to Kleinfelds, but I kow they defiitely have dresses in the 2-3k range.Just tell them your LIMIT is 3k...also factor in alterations (I think they're around 400 or 500 there). Even if they show you a dress thats 3300 they can play with prices and possibly give you 10% off.
Have a great time! Girls on our board had Keasha and Sara who are on Say Yes to the Dress and they loved them. I've also heard great things about a sales girl there named Jenny Kara. And a friend of mine had Diane and she was lovely too.
See if you can request one of those ladies.
Good luck!

I was there last week. I told them my budget was $2500, and was shown beautiful dresses between $1200 and $2800.

Re: Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
Oh-ok...now im feeling better! I thought 3,000 was a pretty decent budget. I have seen plenty of gowns that are beautiful and well under 3,000. I guess at kleinfelds most of the gown;s are 'designer' so they are more expensive. I also have an appointment at Pronovias next weeks and they have BEAUTIFUL dresses that are mostly $1500-$3000. I think I will hold on to my appt at Kleinfelds and just hold firm to my budget. Thanks girls!

you should go for 'the experience,' and so you can say you did it. the other thing is that you may find a dress you like there - figure out who makes it and the style number, and then find it cheaper elsewhere (i.e. rk bridal, netbrides.com, houseofbrides.com, etc.). But then you get teh experience.
Have you tried Demetrios? I went to Demetrios salon in Herald Square, and then ordered mine through Demetrios in Smith Haven Mall (so I can do fittings by my mom). I fell in love with a dress, there, like it better than anything I saw at Kleinfeld (looking objectively, ignoring price tags). My dress was $1200, and I negotiated and got a decent percentage off.

No. I had seen a few dresses I liked, but have a friend in fashion who really thought I should try Kleinfeld. She agreed they have beautiful dresses, but that a dress I picked out elsewhere was more flattering, and more than half the price. They definitely have beautiful dresses, but I bought a Demetrios dress (sticker price about $1250, I paid less) that I am in LOVE with. There was a dress at Kleinfeld that I definitely liked a lot that was $2700 (and another that was pretty nice for $1400), but I didn't LOVE either, and especially not at those prices. Think of how much you can do at your wedding (or on your honeymoon) with those extra $1200.

Re: Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
I did try on a Demetrios gown- it was very flattering and inexpensive $1500 I think.I actually loved it, but it was one of the first gowns I tried on and I wasnt ready to settle that quickly. I was thinking that if I still can't find something after Keinfelds and Pronovias then I would look into the Demetrios Bridal salon at macys

I would also recommend for you to go to Wedding Salon of Manhasset, they have a lot of the gowns that Kleinfeld has and will work with you on the price. Also try the POB store in Roslyn. You have plenty of time, even if you find 'the one' you can play with pricing at competing boutiques.

The Demetrios dress was also one of first I tried on, but I think I tried on 20 thereafter (over the course of a month), and came back to the Demetrios dress. Good not to impluse buy, but if you keep coming back to it...

I agree I would def look at Priscilla of Boston in Rosyln or NYC(sales tax is much cheaper), they have a new line called Jewel which are around 2k. Also they have a credit card that if you open gives you about 14.5% off.I went to Klienfield's and I told them my budget and they just brought me dresses way over my budget. But everyone has a different experience, it doesn't hurt to look.
Also try Rk Bridal, Bridal Reflections, and Bridal Refection

Re: Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
I went there twice and had the most amazing experience both times. We worked with Keasha who was an absolute doll. I told her my limit was $3000 and she worked well within my budget. In the end I got a dress for $2800 and they gave me 10% off so the dress came to about 2500. The alterations (including bussle) were an additional 500... so all that together was $3000!! I also got my veil and headpiece. As a grand total I spent $4000 but again I bought a Thomas Knoell headpiece that was $550 plus a veil for $470.... I did get 12.5% off.. but without those pieces I would have been right at your budget! So all in all.. yes they can find you a dress in that range WITH alterations! I know so because I DID IT!!
I HIGHLY recommend them.... more than ANY other place I went to try on dresses! Their customer service far surpased the other places I went to by a landslide!!!
Good Luck!
Edit to add that... I also thought about finding a dress at Kleinfelds then buying it for less elsewheres... but after experiencing what some of those other stores had to offer.. I couldn't trust them with alterations or even to order the correct dress (color etc). I really went through a lot while dress shopping... and I couldn't even rely on people to call me back or to be there at the time and date they told me to call (one woman told me to call her on a certain day and time.. and she ended up being on vaction)... things like that seemed to happen more often than not! I got scared of having to put trust into these incompetant people's hands. I had some interesting experiences!!!!!! Buying my dress from Klienfelds and having it altered by them.. made me also feel like I was buying into that added securtiy... which for me was SO WORTH IT!!!!! You always hear these horror stories!
I'm not saying that all other stores are totally incompetant and that Klienfelds is the only one who has thier sh*t together... but from the ones I saw... Klienfelds really really outweighed the others!!!!! BY FAR!!

Go to Kleinfelds. It's an 'experience' even if you don't buy from them. I gave them $3k as my budget, too, and they had stuff in that range. However, I wound up buying for less than half my budget at Macy's.

Check out the Kleinfelds website, they have a bunch of dresses listed and you can search them by price range. I have heard Keesha and Judy are great to work with.If you go to Macy's Lake Grove, you should see Geanine, she is the best they have (great listener and so incredibly nice).
Good luck!

You are TOTALLY fine with the budget. I had Blanca as my saleswoman - she was amazing. Recently bought my jewelry there too. They have regular, sample and sale dresses for every budget. I ended up with an Augusta Jones dress, totally amazing - going for first fitting in May! Good luck

Re: Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
Relax and go to the kleinfelds website. Select dresses under $3000 and you will see what pops up. I was engaged once before and got my dress at Kleinfelds. It was a $3500 Christos dress but I didn't intend to spend that amount. They certainly have lower priced dresses. You can get a Lazaro dress for under $2000 believe it or not.Kleinfelds is good because they carry just about every dress so if you're looking in the magazines and like some designers, they are certain to carry most. Plus, they know what they are doing and they treat you very well. Enjoy the dresses on the display and you can see what great fabric looks like.
Don't worry.
PS: I don't work there or have any ties.

Re: Kleinfelds Budgets-Please Help!
Don't go in there with advice you get from a lot of ppl, don't feel nervous by others experiences. Let me say that before i went, i was saying that nobody better snub me or I will go off and went in there just waiting for somebody there to act a certain way, bc of what i heard. When i went i ended up having the complete opposite experience. I had the most amazing experience and wish i didnt go there expecting the worse. I was never asked what my budget was and my salesperson was even trying to convince me to spend less money. She simply asked what designers i wanted to check out and what style.
Everyone has a different experience, and honestly you are the one going in there to buy something and the sales people make a profit off of you so don't forget that. You don't even have to tell them your budget unless you want to,look at whatever you want to and remember what you want to spend to. Don't feel forced into buying anything.
They truly went above and beyond for me, and accommodated me in so many ways, i couldn't have asked for a better experience.
