Has anyone goen to Kleinfields to look at wedding gowns? If so what was your experience like? I have an appt. with them this sunday.

I actually found my dress there (but bought elsewhere).
For shopping and trying on, they are great since they have a nice selection of designers that are exclusive to them in the NY area.
As for buying, you can get your dress considerably cheaper by going elsewhere. Kleinfelds sells the dress for a market price but adds on lots of 'extras' that are just unheard of anyplace else.

I havent been there, but from what I hear they have beautiful dresses but they are very very expensive. For a plain dress it will cost you $2,500. One of my friends got her dress there and she paid $5,000 but the customer service is excellent. Hope this helps.

I know they carrying Amsale dresses but do you know if they carry Vera Wang, Scossi or Carolina Herrera gowns? Thanks.

If you can, request to have Debbie as your sales associate. She was excellent! I heard so many horror stories about how snobby they are there, but Debbie was great. I don't know her last name but I know it was a greek name (in case there is more than one Debbie). Good luck!

The dresses are a range of things. I didn't see Vera Wang there, though they had a few Badgley Mischkas. I don't know what your budget is. I have to tell you I thought the service was AWFUL. Maybe I just had a bad person - I wish I could remember her name so I could tell you - but she was very harsh and not helpful. And since it's a madhouse in there, you really need somebody with some oomph! She didnt' direct me towards things that I told her I was interested in. Good luck though - I probably had a bad apple. If you have the budget for the dress (my mom paid for mine) I would HIGHLY suggest Saks Fifth Avenue. Fabiana is the most wonderful customer service rep and the dresses are simply exquisite. Enjoy this time!

When I go on sunday it will be my first time going to try on gowns and looking in a store. I also have appts. during the week at Vera Wang, Neiman Marcus, Amsale etc.

Pretty sure Kleinfelds doesn't carry Carolina Herrara or Vera Wang. Saks carrys Carolina but their selection is really, really limitd. There is a Carolina showroom in NYC that is more worthwhile.

Snubby!!! I went there with a girlfriend for her 2000 wedding I thought they treated her different based on the color of her skin (she is Latin) she winded up buying else where. I bought my dress in Flowerama in Ridgewood, they were great!

I worked at Kleinfeld. I was assistant to the owner(I quit about 3 months ago). They do not carry carolina herrera or vera wang. They do carry scassi, reem acra, michele roth, bagdley mischka, christian lacroix, diamond, cymbeline, amsale, christos, and some others. If anyone has questions about Kleinfled, I will be happy to answer them.
By the way, they are great to try on and shop around at. The prices are marked way up though. As far as service, I wish that the place I bought my dress from would treat me half as good as Kleinfeld treats their brides (I had already ordered my dress when I started working there). So yes, the service is great (if they consider you to be the right kind of person)- nuf said?

I have never been there but I have heard what the other girls a re saying, that they are very expensive. I know a Mother of groom that got her dress there and she paid big bucks.
