knives

Ladies I desperately need your help!
Being that many of my girl friends are not married yet... I have registered for a knives set.. J.A Henckles or w.e but one of my girls friends who is married registered for a wusthof... each knife was like close to a 100 bucks! and I cannot have my guests spend that much on one knife..
I registered for a 10 piece knife set from Henckles with the block for 189.00 sale price...
I just think it is easier with the block etc...
Ladies who registered, what do you think? My friend said that I need a really good chef knife and those are expensive... I mean 189.00 isnt cheap but its cheaper than 1 knife at almost 100 bucks...

I think that is fine. We have a cuisinart knife block set and FH loves it.

you don't have to register for one that expensive if you don't want to there are block knife sets that cost less

Re: knives

I got a block knife set from wusthof... they actually came yesterday and i just opened the package a couple of hours ago! holy crrrrap they are amazing - i am not kidding - so worth the $. BUT you have to figure out what's right for you. I cannot stand when knives get rusty or dull. and i am obsessed with chopping things.

the set i registered for was on sale randomly for black friday or maybe it was cyber monday. they don't usually go on sale i don't think. in any event i used a 100 gift card and that covered it. i think the block set was reg. $299. it has 4 knives, a sharpener, kitchen scissors, and the block itself.

i also registered for the wusthof steak knife set and a couple of single knives - the way i look at it is - 1) i could always get gift cards and 2) i'll have a registry completion discount if no one gets them for me. some people feel weird about buying knives for a bridal shower. whatever.

anyway whew, HTH!!!!
