Know anything about wine??

I always fell like a MORON everytime we go to a restaurant and they give me a wine list and I stare at it like it's written in some weird foreign language. Especially when I'm out with people I try and pass it off to another person.

What wines go with what??? Like if I have a spicy dish- what do I pick?? or if we're having Italian.... I really have no clue.

Does anyone know of any web sites I can check out or can just help me out with a quick list?

My DH is such a wine snob, but my choice is always the second cheapest bottle on the menu YOu don't want to actually pick the cheapest, but....

Red usually goes with red meat dishes, I usually go with white for fish or chicken

My favorite red is Shiraz, good with everything in my opinion.
