Kosher Food

We want to bring in Kosher food for our kosher guests (there are about 5-10 of them).

The catering hall offers TV dinner style entrees but I prefer to offers my friends and family a fresh choice.

Does anyone know of Kosher restaurants in Eastern Suffolk?

Thanks,
Franni

I can't help with the food thing but fyi some people who keep kosher also need their utensils, dishes, glassware and any oven that the food was prepared in to be kosher. So even if they are on airline trays or otherwise, they will still need to be double bagged to be considered kosher.

Re: Kosher Food

The temple where I am having my wedding is kosher style and not kosher, but for my kosher guests, they (the caterer) order from a restaurant named Mauzones. There is a store in Queens and one in the five towns I think. They provide a full Glatt Kosher meal from soup to nuts. They provide utensils as well. Everything (including utensils)comes wrapped and bagged and though it may not look pretty to have a wrapped meal on the table, it assures the guests that you made the proper provisions for them. A kosher meal can be heated in a non kosher oven if wrapped TWICE in foil. I have a glatt kosher student in my classroom and I have to do this for him all the time.

There are so many levels of Kashrut. My suggestion is to check with your guests to see what type of rabbinical supervision will accommodate their needs. then find a caterer (or have your hallfind it for you) a place that can meet these needs.

try the caterer at North Shore Jewish Center in Pt Jeff Station. I looked there for my wedding and they cater both in houe and off premises. I do not know if they would do just 10 plates, but maybe!!
