kosher or non kosher?

kosher or non kosher?

my FH is jewish. we dont keep kosher, but some of his family (about 15 people) do. we elimintated pork, ham and shellfish from the cocktail hour and reception, but we are going to find an outside caterer to supply those people with kosher meals and plates. does anyone know of any great caterers that can do this? this has been such a source of stress for me, as my family is italian. his father would prefer us to have a kosher wedding, but it can be considerably more expensive and we are on a tight budget as it is. we are having a 'kosher style' hence the no pork, ham or shellfish, but there will be a crudite table with cheeses for those who want.

anyone else have this kind of stress!!

and they say this is supposed to be fun?

Where are you thinking of having your reception? I am having mine at John ANthony's and b/c I have quite of few friends from work who are Orthodox, I am getting Glatt Kosher prepared food for only those guests. It will save us alot of moneythan to have it all Kosher.

Where are you having your reception? Are they very religious? If they are strict, the catering hall should be able to provide you with information and even the meals. You shouldn't have to call a caterer to do the kosher meal for 15 people. Try a kosher deli or restaurant- they can make meals (not sandwiches) for your guests. Don't call a kosher caterer - you will pay through the nose.

This is something that your catering hall can coordinate and help you out with.
